DYE DM3 - One-Off Trauma Prototype (SOLD)

One-OFF DYE prototype. Made by DYE for Trauma when they attempted to secure a sponsorhip deal. This marker just recently left Tyler Humphrey's hands.The only real difference is the maroon dark red anodizing. It has TMC eyes installed but no board. Tyler had it as a fun toy running with a FloryPB LED but unfortunately, he kept the board. Currently, the marker is being sold as-is with no board, but the FLoryPb as well as other new aftermarket boards can be found on ebay. (FloryPB has the most recent 10 BPS PSP ramp and Tadao algos for semi uncapped.) Everything else is tip-top and ready to go. It just needs a board. I have the chain of custody from Tyler for the buyer. Cosmetic condition is excellent 9/10.

i always loved the matrix, very tempted by this. i know there is like 14 orings in the body of this thing how easy are they to mantain and keep running good?

The classic matrix still has the smoothest shot signature of any marker. Everyone should have one

Maintenance is really easy, the o-rings dont get that much wear and tear. The biggest issue is probably the inner top-hat orings inside which blows-out if you overpressurize the in-line. And it is just a matter of re-seating it and re lubing. But the regs on this should be set. Maintenance is just a matter of giving the orings a light coat of lube.

Spool valve markers are the easiest markers to run next to modern poppets like the Ego.

If it was an early airtech, the very old first-gen drivetrains were more finnicky. But after Aardvark developed the gen-2 drivetrains (Red & Blue) and Gen-E adopted the design, they became very reliable. The biggest thing with all spoolies, is overpressurizing and depressurizing, so sometimes you'll let a market sit for months, and then when you air it up, it sometimes overpressurizes and you might get bolt stick, but its an easy fix by lowering the LPR a 1/4 or 1/2 turn. But today, 99% of all new markers in the pro circuit are spoolies, the only moving parts you have is the bolt in the drivetrain.

I would recommend the FloryPB, its $80 on ebay. It has the recent 10 BPS cap in case you go to a field that requires it, and the uncapped semi is based on Tadao algorithms. Thats the board that Tyler had installed in it.
