Lol! Indeed! It is a fiber optic red dot so it’s visible and theoretically useable (you don’t actually need to peer through it). But alas this is paintball so it’s more of an aesthetic choice than anything else

That looks like a Dye Izon red dot sight. You shoot with both eyes open so you will see your target and the dot superimposed over it same way you can look through the feedneck with both eyes open if that makes sense. Some people like them but I agree I'm with Hammer it may be more of an aesthetic choice.

It's nice here because Dye originally offered these sights alongside the cockers and it reminds me of the magazine ads I used to drool over as a teenager.
