    MAC-33 pneumag kits

It's been a long time coming, but I'm finally ready to release my MAC-33 pneumag kits into the wild. There are 3 different versions for this kit. Hopefully everyone who wants one will find something that works for them. All these kits include a piston, a MAC-33 solenoid valve, and an assortment of other small parts you will need to install everything.

Click image for larger version Name:	pneumag kit with labels.jpg Views:	0 Size:	1.86 MB ID:	388011

To do this mod, you will need an Automag, a valve with an RT on/off assembly, and an LPR (such as a Jackhammer or Resurrection). These kits will only work with AGD-spec frames. If you want me to make you a pneumag from a non-AGD frame, then go here.

    The DIY Kit: $150
You will need an Intelliframe (or something similar) and a wide assortment of tools for this kit (most notably a drill press and taps). I will mail you the kit, and then you will need to watch a few videos and install everything yourself. For more details, read post #2 in this thread.

    The X-Frame Kit: $175
This kit variant has some different pieces specifically designed for AGD's X-Frame. It is very easy to install. No special tools required. For more details, read post #3 in this thread.

    The Full Service Kit: $200
This is the option where you mail me your AGD frame and I'll do all the mods for you. This is NOT a complete install, where you send me the whole marker and I build and tune everything for you. This is just a frame job. For more details, read post #4 in this thread.

    Add-ons:
    • check valve
    • milling for air lines
    • adjustable trigger rod (coming soon)
If you would like to buy one of these kits, please send me a message with this information:
    1. What kit do you want to buy?
    2. What color grip screws do you want?
    3. Do you need an air fitting to attach the LPR to your ASA? (The air fitting is free, but I won't include it unless you ask for it.)

This sale thread is going to be a work-in-progress for the next few months. I'm still finishing up a bunch of different add-on options, so please subscribe to the thread or check back later if you see something you want that's not available yet.

    DIY Kit Details

The DIY Kit is $150 shipped. This kit is made specifically for the AGD Intelliframe, although other aftermarket frames should also work. Just ask.

You need a large number of tools to do this properly, most notably a drill press (or milling machine), a few different taps, a 6-inch long 1/8" drill bit, and a 3/16" end mill, among others.

Here's a quick-guide that I wrote and uploaded to Google Docs. You should read this first. It has a full list of tools you need, plus a short list of all the operations you will have to do.

And finally, I made some detailed videos about the whole process.

      The X-Frame Kit

This kit is $175. It has some different pieces made specifically for AGD's X-Frame. The only special tools you need are needle files and a mini flathead screwdriver.

Here's the manual with full parts list and quick install guide:

      Here's the full installation video:

        Full Service Details
This version of the kit is $200. You will have to send me your frame (just the frame). I will modify your frame and trigger for you, and then I will mail it back with the kit. You will then be responsible for installing and tuning the kit and the LPR.

This is not a complete installation. If you want me to build you a pneumag, there's already a whole different thread about that with a detailed price list. Go here to read that thread.

The video guide for this is the same as the video for the x-frame installation. You will follow all the same directions except for the part where you widen the mounting holes on the bracket to fit the MAC-33.

Oops...forgot to add one more post. But this is a secret. It's probably going to be another 3-6 months before I get this surprise figured out. But it will be very cool.

Will this work with a classic valve that has an RT on/off? What length does the on/off need to be?

Yes. Standard length on/off pin would be best.

                  Great question. Thanks for asking.

I'm now ready to sell the second version of the kit. This version was made specifically for the x-frame. If you have one, this should be a super-easy install. (See post #3 for more details.)

Can one of the mods change the title to remove the "soft open" bit? I've still got a few add-ons to finish up, but the kits are ready to go.

Question, why is this not able to work with a standard classic valve and on/off?

It kinda works. The problem is the return force. The classic on/off doesn't push back very hard. Strong enough to push the sear arm, but not strong enough to reset the piston very fast, or maybe not at all. The piston has a seal riding air tight inside a tube, and that friction needs the stronger return force that the RT on/off provides.

There was one time that I made a prototype pneumag specifically for classic valves. It had a different piston housing that included extra space at the back for a return spring. However, this ended up taking a lot of extra time. It required a modded non-AGD frame since Automag frames usually don't have enough space behind the sear for a spring. Since more time = more money, I decided it wasn't worth it to offer the mod for sale. It would be cheaper/easier just to use an RT on/off assembly.

Here are some videos I took of the piston with the spring return, and that frame mounted to a classic valve.

I do have an idea for a return spring that could be mounted inside the frame to help the classic on/off reset the sear/piston, but I haven't had the time to R&D that yet. Hopefully I'll get to it sometime soon.

Bumping this. I've only sold one of these so far, but he's a happy customer.

The proverbial “king of beasts,” the Automag has been one of the best-known paintball markers since earliest times. 30 years later they still hold their own and have a formidable bite!

I found this thread with a simple google search. I’m VERY interested in your x-frame kit. I do have a couple of questions:

I currently have a level 7 valve. Is this the RT ON/OFF valve you require?:
Airgun Designs is a custom paintball gun manufacturer Specializing in the XM Automag paintball gun and it's variations including: 68 Automag, Classic Automag, RT ULE Automag, Classic RT Automag, Automag RT Pro, Retro Automag, E-Mag, X-Mag. New models utilize our own proprietary X-Valve and Level 10 Technology. This technology allows for extremely consistent velocities and rates of fire all with a walkable, mechanical trigger. Airgun Designs has been making paintball guns since 1990.

I do have an LPR. It’s an older palmer pursuit:
Male Stabilizer Co2 Air Pneumatic Regulator Up to 4500 psi input Adjustable 200-900 psi output. 1/8" npt 27 female Input

Assuming the above is compatible, I’d like to send in my x-frame for installation.

Tried sending you a PM. My account is too new. Hope this finds its way to you.
