Field grade paint was shooting fine, but I had quite a few breaks (not chops) with mid-grade paint. I turned this into a project marker to try to resolve that. Azodin markers shoot the ball into the barrel rather than the bolt pushing the ball into the barrel and then firing. To combat this, I had .300" milled off the front of the body and the inner bore. I also tapped the barrel threads deeper. This lets the bolt push the ball into the barrel prior to firing. Still getting some breaks with the mid-grade, but it's greatly improved. I'm out of field grade paint, so I can only assume it'll still shoot that just fine since it's easier on mid-grade paint now.
09-Aug-2024 Update: Azodin advised my regulator pressure was too high given my valve spring setting, hitting the ball with too much volume and pressure all at once. I adjusted based on Azodin's recommendations. Just shot a pod of mid-grade paint in my backyard with no breaks. The settings are hammer 2.75 turns in from all the way out, valve 1.5 turns in from against c-clip, and regulator at 365 psi for 280 fps in a .693" CP Advantage barrel.
