My 12 year old has been on a military collectable kick and has been really trying to track down a decent Vietnam Era helmet he can afford. Doesn't have to be mint as long as it's not damaged and must be original not a reproduction. He isn't rich but has been saving up cash so if anyone has something they are willing to let go of for a reasonable price please hit me up

Hibid.com has a good selection of helmets that come up for sale regularly. Just be aware handling fees on top shipping and buyer's premiums (10-15%). Non replicas can run from $200-1200 depending on condition, year, parts included/missing etc, but sometimes you can snag a really good deal.
Part of me really wants to know how an NVA or late 40s Whermacht helmet made it stateside, but the other part of me says that's not a question that really needs answering! It's also sad that SS and Nazi memorabilia commands a higher price than US stuff, but I'm going to chalk that up to our grandpas war trophy hunting and limited availability of pieces in the market. At least that's what I'm telling myself.
