CO2 Siphon tank (NOT-Anti-siphon)

Looking for a SIPHON tank to help an older tippmann (pro-lite/Carbine) run a little more smoothly in cold weather. According to the manual they like running on straight liquid when Temp is < 60*F.

My Carbine does work well when pointed straight down drawing mostly liquid, but as I would like to be able to hit a person, instead of just colorfully obliterating ants, I am indeed in need of a siphoned tank.

Bacci wants $50 for a 20oz, if you can beat that price shipped, let me know.

A siphon tank has to be maxed to the marker. When I screw my tank into my asa 12:00 on the tank may be a different position than when you screw it in to yours

It's not impossible but just letting you know you'll definitely need to check in a minimum if it lines up correct

It sounds like you're describing an anti-siphon setup.

Siphon tubes are flexible and have a weight on the end to keep it submerged in liquid. They are not matched to an ASA.

Hutbrew, check baccipaintball.com for siphon tube setups - sometimes he has some listed for sale. You might need to install it yourself - are you comfortable working on Co2 tanks?

I must have never seen one of those then the only ones I've ever seen are basically anti siphon tubes flipped upside down

That does make a lot more sense on how to do it though

Never seen it done any other way.

I have 2 16oz hard line siphons I use on my Zs. Basically opposite an anti-siphon like turbo said but it goes down to the bottom corner of the tank when it’s in my bottom line and also works fine on my vert asa. Functions the same but I had to make sure the asa’s lined up as mentioned. No more ting ting ting. No amount of shrink tube gets rid of it all the way lol

Tippmann used the flexible tubing with a fitting on the end to weigh the line down

I've got a few spare 7oz (no hydro needed) and a few Tippmann tubes around ... I can put one or 2 together for you and throw it in the next box if you want 😁

I was unaware of the weighted tubing method! But it makes sense now.

I am comfortable working with CO2- I fill my own at home, and have taken them apart before (with care)- I hadn’t noticed that Bacci sold just the dip tubes, I’ll look into that as well

If you build them make sure you have the correct co2 valves. Valves with a safety bypass made with the hole and the channel bypass the center hole. They won’t suck liquid through the siphon tube, just gas through the safety vent. Hope this makes sense, if not I can get some pictures to help explain.

In the old days, we would use a compression fitting, some microline (NOT lpr tubing), and another compression fitting at the end to serve as a weight, sometimes we would put an oring around it to minimize the clinking. Some guys would use thin copper tubing, which would flex a little, and clink a little less. I must have made hundreds of these.

When vert tanks became the "trend" in the early 90s, many of us switched to a straight pipe. No clinks, and no chance of the microline breaking. I still mostly run vert tanks on my guns with a stock.

Like some said, running an inverted anti-siphon is an option. Companies like Palmers used to sell "tank shims", so that you could run anti-siphon in the summer, and siphon in the winter. I actually bought some of those shims when I got the CooperT 45 adapter, and found out that it didnt point the right direction! lol

To make your own, you can get the fittings at any hardware store. But I don't know if they would have the suitable 5/32 microline from Nylon 6 or 12. Palmers used to sell it. 3/16" would also work, but I don't see it on the site anymore.

Get a pinvalve without the groove. It also needs to have internal threads. Also, you want a Tippmann style valve, not Schcrader. Torque to 40lbs, and NEVER use any locktite.
