Ramrod barrel

So I would like to find a ramrod barrel but have not sourced one. I have seemed to come to the consensus that many in the community think that they are not effective. I am not sure if I fully grasp what the engineers had intended by its design. Is it truly not effective? Has anyone had any success with one? Either way I still want one

It's not a movement, just a reflection of how few actually sold.. because it was an obviously dumb idea. Even for the shameless marketing of the 90's, this one was an obvious stretch. I bet the manufacturer sat on a few dusty, unsold pallets of these, and they eventually ended up in a landfill.
