I have some simple machine work for you

Hey guys, I'm working with pretty limited stroke on my custom cut midblocked sniper body. This makes the standard halfblock hammer useless the way they come from the factory. The machined channel in the hammer is too long making the bolt pin engage too late in the stroke. I just need the channel in my CCM hammer to be 3/16" shorter. My idea is to machine the other side of the hammer where it's blank, making this a pretty simple job. At that point the lug screw can be turned around and the factory cut side of the hammer could now be on the underside. My guess is that some thread work might need to be done to the lug screw threads also due to the new cut.
OR if anyone knows of any adjustable halfblock hammers that make the stroke adjustable I'll go that route instead but from what I understand they aren't out there.

If machining a standard full body hammer that you have laying around is easier then I could just take some measurements for you instead of having to ship the one I have.
*BTW the hole on the end of the channel is a hole I drilled it's completely irrelevant.

The empire sniper/resurrection hammer has a shorter channel if you just want to pick something up that will work. That will probably do it.

i happened to find one rummaging about looking for something yesterday, i have calipers, they say the unmilled part of the slot is .300, and the total length of the hammer is 1.15
length of empire slot should be about .85 +/- .002 or so on account of my calipers being old and uncalibrated, but consistent

Another slot cut into the hammer may lighten it to the point of respringing with a heavier-than-necessary mainspring. I think I'd go the alternate half-block hammer suggested.

ANS had some standard empire sniper hammers in stock so I placed an order. I'll post back here when I receive it

You could always try to find a local machine shop. A couple tic-tacs with a welder and a quick clean up with an end mill and you'll have what your looking for.

I was kind of thinking about that also. I'm a certified TIG welder myself but only for aluminum. I'm confident in the stainless welds I've done in the past but 1; I only have a MIG welder and 2; that lower section where I drilled into is way too thin. The material just collapsed in before the drill bit cut through it. I suppose the weld could be built out from the end part of the channel but then again it would still need to be machined to a round contour to cradle the bolt pin.
But it's probably all pointless because I picked up an Inception Designs bolt from a local shop yesterday and the distance between the face of the bolt and the bolt pin is longer than the bolt I was referencing so it's now catching the current hammer in the perfect spot. I probably won't need the Empire hammer that's on its way.
