Eclipse Logo - to use or not to use ?

So I make custom grips aswell as other items,
I don't use trademark logo's but yet I see numerous 3D printed grips with the Eclipse (E) and WGP (W) logos printed into them all over Facebook groups.
is this legal or could the makers get action taken against them.

reason I ask is not to get prosecuted but it would be nice to give the option to have the eclipse logo lasered on to some Eblade grips I make.

eblades are out of production as are parts for them from PE.
You should just send a message to PE on facebook and ask.

If it is for personal use, it is fine. If you are selling them then they might take issue, but they might not be concerned as you are not taking any money from them and it is a small market anyway. Just ask!

Always contact about anything related to trademarks before doing anything.

Most are getting away with it because 3d printed grips are short money. You could send a cease and desist but will probably cost you more money than it's worth, considering the infringer is making so little money off the infringement. Quality is also so low that there is little chance of confusing aftermarket with original.

Go high quality/high resolution lasered logo on high end grips? They make take action if you don't ask for permission first. Once you have that permission, store that email in a safe place.

Its no big deal to me as I'm not going to be making grips with their logo but would be nice to know where I stand in case I happened to laser one on.

I understand what you mean in regards to the 3D printed compared to what looks like a retailer would see off the shelf.

When it comes to trademarks companies are obligated to aggressively defend their trademark or risk losing it. Sounds funny, but that is how it is written.
You just need to get permission if you intend to sell it. Expect to be told no though, so you would need to slightly alter the design.

Seajay is correct. If they gave you permission, it'd be because of good nature and naivety. Better to ask forgiveness than permission.

As predicted they said no and that they would not allow people to use their logo on a product for sale without an agreement.

FYI - the 'better to ask forgiveness' portion is no longer applicable since you've been denied. If you make anything, you need to alter it substantially so as not to be confused with their trademark. If you don't, I think their first strike could be expensive for you - where as before it'd just have been a C&D.

It's fine honestly, I had one design with some flames and the E logo but I will drop the logo makes no real difference to me.
The people making 3D printed grips with the logo's should be more concerned then I am , but like you say they can always plead they didn't know
