    3D Print Nova 700 Safety?

    Gents,

I have/maintain/play with an old Nova 700- as most of you know a common deficiency with the novas that are still kicking around is a broken/missing safety. I don’t know much about 3D printing, is this a part a good candidate? What would it take?

I'm not familiar with the Nova700, how does the safety work on those?
could you take a picture of the broken one?

If I remember correctly the center section of the safety is pretty thin like under 1/8" dia. I'm not sure that makes it impossible but I bet your going to go though a lot of prototypes to get one that works.

Rainmaker , thanks for the picture

@garnecur, this would work better in metal. If you make a drawing I'm sure would could figure something out ...
The 3D print will not holt up at all ...

I agree. This part would snap almost immediately if 3D printed. You're going to need a lathe to reproduce these effectively.

If I have a "print" or a good one to model after I can make a few out of aluminum or steel if there is a demand.
a frame to test fit would also be welcome.
