    Print my design?

I haven't found a thread on here that lists potential members that are willing to print various designs.

I designed a small part that needs to be printed but don't own a printer. I don't particularly like the turnaround time of what Xometry.com offers and I'd rather give the work to member on here than to a company overseas. Also, I emailed Xometry and they don't offer PETG which I've heard is the best filament to use in our sport? I don't have any printing knowledge so I'm going off of hear-say.

The part I need is only 1x1.75x.75" and I only need a prototype printed for now so any cheap filament will be fine. There's an event coming up in less than a month so the turnaround time is my biggest concern. Anyone up for it?

I'm going to follow this thread as well. Looking to have a component printed out of PETG for a bike repair stand...

Can you post your design/artwork for us? There are quite a few considerations for objects when 3D printing so we kind of got to see what we got to work with.

If you are interested, Pm me with the details. Depending on your requirements/design I could get you a quote of what it cost for me to print it for you out of PETG.

I had a buddy reach out to me and he was able to print me the prototype I needed. Once I pick it up and make any design changes I'll let you know about a final PETG print. I appreciate it.

The thing about 3D printing is that if you don’t understand how to design your part for the process (the specific machine even, at times) then it’s often very hard for the guy to actually print a quality version of your part. This is why you see many designers printing their own parts and not so many examples of this process split up. There will often be a lot of back and forth to get the design right.

PETG is a nice material for FDM but if I were sending something out I’d have it made nylon SLS.

SignOfZeta I designed it myself in Fusion. I'm good enough in CAD design to make it work but it makes sense that different machines will have different tolerances. For this reason I might want to stick to having my buddy print it for me using the same machine I had the prototype printed on. He's willing to print them all for me if I supply a filament roll. Given a roll of ASA is $30 and Xometry is quoting $20 for a single print I think this is the best route. Darknite667 Thanks again, I'll keep you in mind if I ever need something printed and my buddy isn't around. Maybe buying my own printer will be in the near future too.
