Hey all, I caught the bug to start playing paintball again after about a 5 year hiatus. I have an E-Bladed ‘05 SuperStock and at that time I always dreamed of an MQ2. Now that I’m back, the dream is also back and has evolved. I am thinking up an unbalanced pneumatic valve that is relatively drop in. I have been scouring through all the various solenoid and regulator manufacturers data sheets and (after some scratch math) think I have some idea of what I’d like to use:
I’d like an LPR that is small enough in diameter to fit into the lower tube of an Autococker (11/16) and capable of handling 300psi input and lowering it to 70 psi; adjustable preferable. My thought is to take an SMC ARJ1020F-M5-04 and cut off the push to connect fitting and theread it for a barb. The issue is the proof pressure is 145psi. After some thin wall pressure calcs, I believe this reg body can handle much higher than that, and with tighter seals, I think i can get that to work. Luckily, they’re only about $20 so I can test this theory if theres no other answer.
The big question, however, is if there is a reg that meets my criteria without (or with little modification?) That is: less than 11/16in in diameter, adjustable (preferably), and capable of 300 (or more) PSI of input.
This reg would feed a similarly tiny 3/2 way solenoid valve. Currently, all I can come upon is the SMC 070 series. This solenoid could sit inline in the lower tube or where the E-Blade clacker currently sits. This limits my upper pressure to about 70PSI, which isn’t ideal but can work.
Is there a similarly small solenoid that can fit either in the lower tube or in the space from the clacker that can handle higher input pressures? If there is something there that can handle 300+ then I can forego the regulator entirely and my life becomes much easier. I highly doubt it, but even if something can handle higher pressure in the same space, it makes the balancing of the valve infinitely easier, so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
