M1 Garand bolt bolt recreation ?

I have an idea kicking around in my head about a paintball M1 Garand.

A billion years ago I saw a guy had put an AutoMag in a Garand stock and added some cosmetics and it was super cool!


But how to get that distinctive M1 bolt movement and bang, bang, ping! ?

My idea currently is a modified Spyder clone...
Extend the bolt forward past the air chamber feeding the valve. Modify the bolt between the hammer link and bolt-face that seats in the barrel so that a door could pivot around it. Set the door to slide with the bolt and rotate like the M1 bolt. This will cause a bit of drag and reduce the cycle rate.

The magazine could be a metal stack clip loaded from the top that the bolt passes thru to chamber the ball,round. The lifter below would work as real, but I don't currently know how the clip ejector works...



Does any of this sound plausible?

Subbed, I also have a M1 Garand project that is unfinished.....may even sell you what I have
....I was trying to do more of a Carbine style though

A couple of comments: 1. Face book hammer 7 in the Garand stock is beautiful work. There are two minor flaws for this project: First it is bolt action not semi. Second, the mag will give the M1A1 or M14 appearance not the Garand look. The old site gallery had examples of both the M1 and M14. The criteria would need to be internal mag, semi auto. 2. The M1 carbine is mag fed, semi auto and a completely different looking stock. 3. I see 2 possible ways to get the Garand style and function. Use the under mounted gas tube as a spring tube feed. Or a very short stack internal mag. Either will leave the Garand appearance in place. The classic ping can be achieved with a metal bell as the mag follower. Bolt rings bell on empty shot. Or bell pings when it hit the feed opening on the re cock stroke. I have been tinkering with the gas tube idea for a while. Just haven't had time to complete it.
