    Spring-powered feed tube questions

So I just picked up a VM68 from Ecapnation (first I’ve ever had) and I’m wanting to put a 10-15 round spring feed perpendicular to the barrel (like a British “sten” gun or Japanese “type-100”)

I’m hoping to homebrew something akin to the current phantom “Pheed” or spring-loaded semi-auto STBB style pistols from the 2000’s.

The question I have is what kind of spring to use/ order? I know I need something pretty long, but with minimal force when compressed. I could probably go and do some book learning at the lyberry and figure it out, but I thought I’d reach out to the community for a role model:

A good role model to help and go make things a lot smoother, so [hutbrews] can come and talk to [you] and instead of [making a 10-feed] six or seven times through denial and error, but then get it right the first time and have some good [spring 10-rd feeds] that would then make it more better than otherwise.

-paraphrased from Richard LeFleur, of Sunnyvale TP, July 2002

    Thanks fellas!

    Mag spring 👍
Make sure to get the "round ball" version, they are a bit lighter than the FSR version.

Heck go join a mag feed group on Facebook. I'm sure there's guys on there that have switched their mags out with fsr springs and just have the round ball springs laying around

The eclipse 10 round Dmag spring work well.
if you want it longer I designed and 3d print an adaptor that allow to link 2 sping in series. If you have a 3d printer I can send you the file.

Jordan made a 15 ball spring fed loader for his huricane using those parts.

Those adapters that Alexndl came up with work great.

I run two springs with Alex's link and follower in my springfed Hurc - it's nominally a 10 round setup but I like the extra "oomph" with the extra spring (I may have trimmed one down, I don't remember) - and it works excellently.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

I’ll be going with the DMAG springs- I hadn’t even considered replacement springs for mag fed paintball… I don’t play mag.

I plan on using a copper pipe, Dremel’d out enough to have a screw head sticking out. Probably just pop a dowel rod in there just enough to push the last ball into the chamber.

              Thanks for the input folks!

This size spring wire is good for moving paintballs horizontally. If you want to lift paintballs vertically, youll need to beef it up a bit. Maybe double the thickness? Ive never tried...

Adjust the size of the mandrel to make slimmer/fatter springs accordingly
