    Sniper based magfed thing..

I showed this off in the “what did you make today?”, thread but figured I would make a dedicated post…

I always wanted a pump magfed marker with some refined features. I almost bought ADN Paintball’s X1-A or X1-p but was never a big fan of tipx mags and at the time they were selling I was rather broke. So first task is to make a list of what I like and wanted.. 11/16 bore for sure (easier to machine/lower pressure/more parts options), Merlin spec (more material on the lower body so don’t need to worry as much about stripped threads), and using dye mags..

first image is cad of a rough “ultralite” version I was going to make but then added material for a scope or sight of some sort… then figured if I’m taking the time to machine it, might as well add a little flair and pulled elements from other designs and placed them over the minimalist “ultralite” design

I don't play magfed, but I would buy one of these in a heartbeat! That's beautiful sir!

Second picture shows it with SLS printed magwell and FDM printed 86’ish frame I’m working on… so it turns out I have the spacing a little too tight for the magwell. I need a little more space for the mag to catch. And still need to machine it for detents and magwell securing screws, as well as machine channels for the pump arms..

Reason I didn’t do that when I did the rest of the machining is because at the time I couldn’t decide on a single rod above the breech (like how CCM did the SSPAR) or going with bent dual pump arms (something similar to what you see on an autococker)

and that is where I’m currently stuck.

Dual bent rods would add complexity to the design and manufacture. I would assume the only real advantage of the dual rod system would be aesthetics and customer perception. It was proven long ago single rod pump configurations are more then acceptable. I would go with what is simplest and easiest to manufacture.
