Brass cleaning advice plz (barrel int.)

I've got an older KP with what I suspect is oil base paint in the breach area. I can see a buildup however i can't really reach it to attempt a clean. Im thinking some sort of chemical agent is my friend along with perhaps some nylon rope oversized to act like a boresnake.

what should I be using and doing?

Wd40 and some very fine wire wool on a stick

Pretty sure AnarchicArctic used some Ketchup and an old barrel swab. 😉

There may have been a power drill involved. 😋

Yes! The acid in the ketchup does wonders. Swab it in there, let it sit for an hour or so, then rinse with hot water

why not fully disassemble,and soak the body in hot soapy water?t then just pull a piece of tee shirt through it.

If it is oil base, it'll be difficult to get that solution to work. But if it's not I should be in luck.

I always used a cloth 12 gauge shotgun cleaner smothered in Flitz and attracted to a drill.

Isopropyl alcohol is what I use. Works great
