Well I read the rules and I believe I make poo-rameters. This is a current build only started on December 11. So my aim with this build is to make a poor mans Shocker CVO. We all know that Ions were pretty craptastic a decade and a half ago when they were steaming hot off the assembly line so I hope its poo-y enough for the judges. I basically started right in the parts bin to assemble a complete Ion to start with which through a series of bad decisions I ended up with 4 working Ions already. I was basically thinking that they are so unreliable that I should have 2 each for myself and my girlfriend, so we always have a backup.
So my idea is to make this mechanical with a single trigger. I found a Dye LCD frame on Ebay for cheap. The only downfall being that it had no pin for the trigger. No worries i used the stock one from the Ion grip, but I had to drill the hole out so it would fit. Then I sawed the grip off the frame, filed it flat and drilled a few holes to mount it and to gain access to the rear banjo fitting without taking the grip frame off. So essentially it's one bolt, one fitting and then I can spin the back half of the can off for easy bolt access, like semi BOB design.
So with my design, I still needed a spacer in between the frame and the body, so I started hacking down a stock body. I like how it looks with no body at all, but I need something to hold my detents in place so this is what I came up with so far.
I got the 3 way mounted in the frame now. I like where this is going.
$69.19 for SSC mech kit
$34.95 for Dye grip frame
$10 for banjo fittings
$2.95 grips
$1.95 for red macro line
$5.31 for a metal regulator grip
Current total:
$124.35
The feedneck counts as a parts bin I think. I didnt buy it specifically for this build, actually bought it for my main but the feedneck is so low that it doesn't fit on any of my Ion bodies it was literally just sitting in the pile. If it's deemed unworthy I'll take it back off.
