    Tip'n'trick: Walzmas 2022 edition

    Hello Yall,

We had a little giveaway contest this season, and there were so many great things it would be a shame for them to get lost, so here they are.
Feel free to add anything you have!

They are "sorted" in order of submission.

Made in US, great for keeping all your spares and parts organized and protected in adjustable size compartments.
They are only $5 US in Canada too but currently on sale at Amazon.ca $17CAD for 3. Latches told me about them.

PVC makes a great marker stand.
Cereal storage container or empty laundry soap bottles makes a great paintball caddy.
(Clean out the Laundry soap bottle pull out the pour spout I used a canning funnel and poured the paint in put the pour spout back and you are good to go)
As Erase said the fishing tackle boxes make great parts storage
(What is great you can get ones that fit 2-3 flambeau boxes and then have a box for individual markers, then only take those with you when you go)
All terrain Wagons work great to carry gear, paint and other supplies to and from your car or camp site for big games
Q tips and old toothbrush to clean your marker
Large Mouse Mat for a work mat.

Stuff I have not tried but makes sense
    Laptop sleeves for marker storage
Luggage instead of a gear bag
Small new Toilet bowl brush to clean out pods

I am sure i know more I want to give others a chance here and TBH i can not think of any right now.

I take a pack when i go someplace with renters and give them out to kid renters. You can cut the finger, fingers off easy and they provide some protection against hand hits. With being so cheap if the kids bring them back great if not they get to keep something to remind them of paintball and that might be the spark that gets them going.

Old toothbrush -- cleaning old paint/dirt out of a marker after a game
Parchment Paper -- I put it on my "Magnetic Tool Dish" when pulling a marker apart, which makes getting the little screws off the magnet a bit easier
Foam Gym Mat (or kid's play mat - the little puzzle-like ones) - Gives me somewhere clean-ish to stand when changing into/out of my shoes or pants by my car. (I did steal this from someone who posted it last year.....and it was a great idea)
Dump Pouch with a needle and thread - I have re-sewn a pocket internal to my dump pouch that is now a full velcro enclosure. I use it to keep my car key inside while I play so I can't lose it.
Electrical Tape -- protects barrel tip on "harsh" fields.

I organize my duffle bag with old USPS boxes. They fit perfectly and add rigidity to the duffle.

As said, tackle boxes for small parts, extra screws, a tube of loctite and Teflon tape.

Also, the best microfiber cloths I've ever used are made by Norwex. My wife bought a ton of them years ago for household cleaning purposes, and I've poached a few of them over time

Cut them to size and/or experiment with adding more or less to find what works best for your particular setup, and voila! No more slop in ya stroke and no more scratches on ya skinny lil barrel (lol). The ties will actually slide back and forth with the pump handle, and every marker I’ve done this with has actually made the pump stroke better than it was with the proper size barrel.

The dollar store sells small collapsable dusters that i use to clean pods.

Those small pocket sized spray bottles to help get paint off your lens. Better vision than just using a cloth and saves a ton of time not having to walk back to staging after being shot in the face during scenario games.

Bump cap inserts are like $5, slip into a hat and take the sting out of nasty head shots

tackle bag fitting said boxes (perfectly) along with some pockets for tools
spray bottle with isopropyl and water for google cleaner w/microfiber - alcohol helps the water evaporate
business Costco bar towels microfiber are the best - green stripe
plushy long twisted microfiber towels for automotive are better for markers
56qt plano sportsman trunk for storing and hauling gear - homedepot
cooler with no ice to store paint on hot days will make you time more fun - shell stays cool and breaks better

Have an old heavy duty glasses case I use for go-to tools I take to the field.

Picture hanger d-ring under the rear thumb screw for a sling hook point.

Like many others, I also use cheap neoprene laptop sleeves for storing some markers.

My most recent repurposing has been to use this Walgreens brand reversible red/blue sports wrap for improvised armbands. At my home field, everyone plays together and is sorted into red v. blue using plastic surveyor's tape tied around the marker feedneck. That single point of identification can sometimes be insufficient when playing with a lot of renters, especially if you have a talent for turning up in unexpected areas of the field. I really hate pulling off a bold and/or clever move only to be rewarded with friendly fire, so I tend to add more identifying markings. When it is cool enough to wear a combat shirt, I've got red and blue velcro patches I can slap on my sleeves. But when wearing something shorter or thinner, that's not an option. With the reversible sports wrap, I can whip up an armband in seconds, and if I get reassigned to the other team later in the day I can just flip it over and rewrap it without having to cut off more.

    • Old socks make great storage for goggle lenses. They generally fit in the mask bag as well.
    • +/-50% rubbing alcohol & 50% water is a quick and easy cleaning solution. Put it in some of those small pump bottles (as others have mentioned) to make life easy.
    • HDD cases make awesome storage for things like Freak inserts (depending on which version you have); also good for general storage.
    • Bring fresh socks for when you are done playing. One of the best parts of the whole day is putting them on.
    • Those little pill bags are awesome for keeping track of little parts like screws & o-rings
    • An ice cube tray is a great way to keep track of small parts when doing maintenance (also great for working on PC's)
    • Buy weird / bright colors for storage containers of all types. Much easier to find in a bag, and it is easy to ID if it develops legs, since almost everyone buys black.
    • With a little engineering, old cat litter tubs make pretty good pod fillers. Add a spout and some foam in the bottom to funnel the paint down.
    • I'm a big fan of the SmartWool socks, regardless of weather. They are comfortable, warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and don't get disgusting if they get wet like cotton tends to.

A large fishing tackle box makes an excellent tool box. Even better if it has removable divider boxes

Desk ring light with a magnifying glass really helps over the work bench, on the go, a head lamp for hiking is really useful
