Haha, I had to share my fail.
So my workspace is a total mess. I went down there to work on my walz, and this frame was laying front and center of my work bench. These python grips I've been looking for a use for. These 10 32 brass screws purchased specifically to adapt a pair of grips to this frame. Issue is the counter bore on the grips were too small for these truss head screws.
I figure ahh, 5 minutes of work will finish that up. I grabbed a drill bit and carefully counter bored the driver side. A bit of hydro dip cane off, but oh well. I went to do the passenger side and the drill bit caught. Then split the grip right down the middle.
I did my best with a combination of wood glue, super glue, and clamps to salvage it. I was able to finish the c bores carefully, and mount it.
For those of who dont know, the frame is a nitro duck e frame. Someone on the forum was selling a pile of these with no guts. I bought one for a good price. These are odd in a few ways. They are an e frame, but they are slotted for a timing rod. Rather than a clapper noid, they have a mount for an electrical switch behind the trigger.
Some other weird bits about the nitro duck frame, the trigger stop screw was tapped 6 instead of 8 ( or 8 rather than 10). I wanted to use the guts from my slider, so I re tapped it for an 8( or 10). That being said, the first trigger plate I attempted to use stuck up proud of the frame just enough that it bound up into the body of whatever I mounted it on. I swapped for a seemingly exact plate. And it lays in the frame fine.
It also has the oddity of 10-32 grip screws, but I believe its otherwise is a cocker frame, which is what caused this conundrum.
Either way, figured yall could laugh at me and my failure.
