    I'm the Pink Vespa Guy

Sorry guys, i've been MIA. I hermit and hibernate when I deep dive into projects, especially coding ones. Turns out, I basically spent 6 months writing myself out of a job 😆. Anywho, here is one of the more fun projects i did this year. Some of you may have seen me ripping around at ION. I did hear a few people call me the pink vespa guy lol.

Two of my daughters were fighting over a toddler ride on mini mouse train and i made the mistake of telling my 5 year old she is too big for it. After all the tears and crying i walked her over to two old dead/broken razor scooters and told her i would fix them up for her. A few google searches later to catch up with the times (apparently you're old af if you still think milwaukee and dewalt batteries are the way to go) i landed on aliexpress (my favorite) buying lithium ion battery packs. Then i remembered we still had my step son's walmart razor dirt bike in the shed that he wrecked years ago. I walked out there and low and behold i found this beautiful treasure buried underneath everything. I totally forgot about my step daughter's pink razor moped (pocket mod). it was perfect and i fell in love so i went back to aliexpress (and apparently vevor which i just found).

My neighborhood is all steep hills in the woods and i live at the top of the hill with the town and shopping center down at the bottom (it's indeed snob hill and i'm the degen of the neighborhood it's great). Wouldn't it be great to ride this pink beast down to town for some coffee or lunch and still be able to haul me up a steep hill back home at at least 15-20mph. Well this is what AI was intended for. I apparently needed a 48v 20Ah lithium ion battery with a 2000w motor and t8 chain and sprocket. I also found out very quickly that i needed to upgrade to disc brakes. This bad girl does 30-35mph and will buck you off and do wheelies if you're not careful. I could have picked a different sprocket to go 40-45+ but it honestly doesn't need it and i wouldn't have been able to handle the hills in my neighborhood or the mudding at ION. Some people rip the pink plastic off and just paint the steal frame to make it look like every new aged escooter. I think after ION i'm going to keep the pink.

I also last minute built a homemade jackery box out of a oops i ordered the wrong battery that only has a 15A constant discharge rate and can't handle the razor dirtbike. Well i slapped it into a home depot bucket with an inverter and solar controller (solar unfortunately didn't work) and some usb chargers. i ended up returning the inverter to go bigger and the solar stuff because the controller didn't work. this is a beta project and still in redesign. This is a dumb project and a waste of money. Don't do this. Just buy a jackery box lol. it's cheaper. I only did it because i couldn't return the expensive battery and i'm a buyer not a seller so i find dumb reasons like this not to sell something on ebay. Plus three back to back $800 electric bills this winter got me thinking about solar. and projects is how i learn.
