    Hutbrew’s Homebrewed bolt action 2k+

So I’m horrible about documenting the process… but here we are about 90% done- waiting on one part from Inception Designs, but I present Hutbrew’s bolt-action 2k sniper:

When I get this all up and shooting, I’ll post a breakdown of the pieces, bips and bops going on inside.

Got an absolutely hacked up 2k body from Alexndl as a package deal. I’ll let him weight in on value lol I debated between a Traccer, Pro/Carbine, but decided this was the one.

    The Marker:
Lets say I got it for ~ $40, Canadian… XD

The first thing I noticed when was the awesome 1/8NPT thread already nicely drilled for me on the passenger side… more on that later…

It also featured a wonderfully drilled out drivers side gouge , which I assume is for reverse AC’ing it at one point. I haven’t decided if I’ll make any use of it, other than I’m not worried about trashing this body and experimenting with it.

After giving a once over and checking to make sure it held air and fired with a plug in the side tapped 1/8 hole, I new she was ready for some chaos… it even came with a nice RAT valve, where someone had missed the mark with the valve retention screw, and went deeeeep. Still works, and this is a goof ball build so let I let her ride.

    The Stock…

Decided to go full-Amish on this build. No power tools.

Started with a piece of lumber I got from a yard sale~ a year ago and had sitting in my shed, for… about a year.

Hand-sawed (rough-cut) it to roughly the shape I wanted, then hand-drilled (egg-beater drill, baby) the void space for the sear and actuator hole (just a steel nail and a spring passing through the fore grip part of the stock. Proceeded to even out and level the surfaces that would be making contact, using a variety of hand rasps and files. Continued to rasp, and file, rasp, and file, until my wife called me from upstairs because it was 2am… I began the stock around 10pm.

Messed with the sear and filed down nail for about an hour the next day until I was satisfied with its reliability- but now I needed a trigger…

After about an hour (or two) of Heineken- inspired misadventures with filing, hand drilling and hacksawing away to make a slide-type trigger which eventually I decided would not be worth the hassle I came up with the “squeeze-lever” trigger.

Spent about 15m bending 1/2” by 1/8” aluminum bar in grand-dad’s old vice, and with a couple poorly drilled holes in the front, we had a trigger. And I’ll be dammed if it hadn’t worked just so wonderfully.

Again, the Misses beckoned me to retirement for the evening and I dutifully obliged. I ordered a VASA blank from Inception, and a 1/2-off Stella freak back.

$20 for the blank, the Stella is for another marker

Today, I got around to messing with mocking up the ASA and Steel braided line. No pipe tape just yet.

The stock at this point is looking, quite rough- the plan is to:
    1) Check for functionality once the VASA blank arrives
    2) Tear down all parts and document assembly for y’all’s
    3) Sand, sand, and sand some more
    4) If the weather improves in Ohio, throw some stain on
    5) Polyurethane? Wax? Need some advice on this one.
    6) Re-assemble and get a proper video on the yousetoobs showing the awesomeness.

I’ll post a YT link below showing how the hammer drops, and recocks just fine
