power tube dimensions?

Anyone have the diameter of the front of the standard tippmann power tube?

I'm trying to figure out the innovation on the Paintball Innovations power tube. I suspect it's lowering my velocity.

I acquired a stock powertube and bolt. The diameters inside and out appear the same.

The Paintball Innovations powertube is about 0.1" shorter on the front, not counting the notch from the pin of the .50 cal insert.

The stock bolt is tapered on the inner bore, making it a tighter fit on the powertube by about 0.032". Between the open back of the 50 cal insert and the extra hole at the back that looks like it is misplaced, I'm thinking that is where I'm losing some velocity (air). I'll test it out again.

Other note, I found the 50 call installation videos on youtube. The painted end of the bolt link goes toward the front (on the insert), which is due to the shorter end needed for the socket-cap-screw-head used to hold the link end.

These parts are pretty cheap on Tippmannparts.com, so *if* they are a problem, I'm not sure they are worth the trouble.

Know what's more important than the bolt?? Getting the sticky boogers out of the body where the hammer and link arm run.

I had missed that before. It was a smooth layer, either translucent or the same color as the dirty gray inside the shell. I had to touch it to find it. Old grease and cotton candy probably.
