As an example of someone who has cornered a market. At least partially, look at dirtyworks. That d bag for a while and I would assume today basically buys any Bob long legacy parts that pop up not because he needs them but so he can control the prices on the market

Maybe someone can enlighten me how any paintball equipment reseller is making any money. With the IRS $600 1099 law, won’t ~24% of income from sales go to the government? If sold on eBay or similar.

Turn your PB Hobby into a small biz. File the necessary tax docs at the end of the year... you'd be surprised to find out you get credit for a "loss" rather than extra income.

Because to me these “scalpers” are putting in a lot of time and effort to make no money… let’s say $25 per body + 6% sales tax + $6 for shipping = ~$32.50.

When selling for $50 - 13% eBay fee - 24% IRS = ~$33.06 per body.

I’m glad there are people who put in the effort to our hobby/sport. And trust me I don’t have a horse in this race, was just trying to understand.

Roger- When my 2 son's & I were playing a lot I had to do something to fund our "hobby" so I treated it just like a small biz... sales, repairs, equip, paint, trips to scenarios ,tourneys, even a team sponsorship. Got to write off about 15% of my mortgage, elect, gas because that was the portion dedicated to the "biz". Did that for maybe 6 years, never showed a gain... always a small loss. I had to file "long form 1040" and like 5-6 extra forms but they were pretty simple.

Well, one of the many things I like about MCB is the reputation of the site and its members as being trustworthy and honorable, rather than being the general sharks out for the fast buck. Slightly more than a year ago I messaged a gentleman in order to buy an Intimidator at an Intimidator forum at Facebook. Since I prefered to have the Intimidator shipped to a different address than my registered Paypal, he asked if I had any credentials within that specific FB group.

At the time I didn't have any feedback at that group, so I instead I referred to MCB and AO - and within the minute I got the following answer;


"Ha, nobody makes up MCB or AO credentials. You must be an old timer, I’ll take the risk Shoot me your friends address in Kentucky and let me know once you’ve sent payment. I’ll get you tracking for the marker this weekend "


The deal went through smoothly, and I would very much like for MCB to retain that reputation, rather than being just another scalper's haven.

What’s truly repellent is the argument you’ll get from these people if you ever confront them about flipping. They really think they’re honest for charging multiple times their cost for items they are lucky to have. When you point out that when someone (like WGP in this case) actually does the hard work to make and selll a $100 item they are usually lucky to make %10 off it so why should a flipper make %1000?…they’ll just give you some platitude their dad fed them about not being able to poor from an empty vessel or some such tired greedy selfish crap to excuse their scumbaggery.
