I posted this here about 10 years ago and was after information. Still don't know a ton but my Dad played paintball in Socal in the 80's and 90's and had this made for him by Dave Loo. Unfortunately, my father passed away and I inherited it and most told me to just hold onto it. I originally posted here to try to get more info but I don't know very much more than I did all those years ago. Thought I'd post an update and see if anyone has any other resources and they seem to be few and far between. I also have a link to the original photos ( https://imgur.com/a/xI3ew ) but they are pretty much the same as this hasn't really been out of the original case many times in all these years as well.

Chuck E Ducky and BLachance75 and AnarchicArctic may be able to help. That’s an awesome piece right there , your father had great taste. I’m sorry I can’t help out on real details to it. They are valuable that’s for sure. Some one will be along with the information you are looking for.

That’s a rare piece of paintball history you have. There’s a nice write up on vintage Rex. https://www.vintagerex.com/cgi-bin/i...20Duck%20Works

I would check with some of the OG SoCal Stock guys. I would try and find out what team your dad played for and go from there. Those were custom pieces built back in the day. Many were on the same select teams out of CA. I would not sell it but yes it’s pretty valuable. That feed looks like a custom job. Im curious the story behind it. Might have been a right feed at one time that was converted possibly not sure. Regardless it’s a cool piece you should go play with it. If for some reason you need someone to get it shooting properly LMK I can probably help you out. Collectors and people looking to flip it will probably spam that message box. But if it was your Dads I would not sell it. I would try and find as much info as you could on it.

I’m almost positive it’s a converted right feed. As that’s not the original feed style of era. Looks like it’s welded on to the slide. This could reduce value. At the same time there were several guys back in the day modifying these so it could be a 1off unique piece made just for your Dad. These were all a lil different. One things for sure that in grip 12g is way more functional then the slam changer style. I would get it shooting and go use it. First place I would start is finding out what teams he played for as they can give you clues to the origin of the marker and teammates who might shed some light on the history. I would start with the SoCal Stock group.
Dose he have any old jerseys? Unique Markers like that gained a lot of attention people probably know the marker. If he played a lot. Have you tried Facebook as well? I hate the BookFace but wouldn’t hurt putting feelers out in the Stock Class groups. Especially the West Coast local ones.

I know it was made for him for sure because it was made in a set of 2 specifically for my Dad. Reason I know that for sure is because my uncle has one two and they were opposites "Light and Dark". My Dad kept the "Dark" because he liked the black (as do I) and my uncle was gifted the other. I believe my cousin still has it as well but it's been many years. Also, do you have a link to any of the Facebook groups? I do not know any information on the teams he played with but he was very active.

Your uncle would be the first one I start with he would know the team he played for. That’s a rare piece as it probably only one of two then that’s cool! Check out the link RedLeaderSB posted that’s the largest SoCal Stock group. Maybe shoot Bacci or Benji from Paintball DNA a message about it. They are big into the SC groups. They might be able to shed some light and give you some more info and contacts. But knowing the team he was on, or who he rolled with, or the field location can probably put you in touch with the people who played with your Dad. Benji And Bacci are big into paintball history and on the west coast. I’m sure they could help if not point you in the right direction. Good luck and keep us posted.

baccipaintball seems like a good go too source.
Dan is an outstanding source of paintball history. On top of that you're posting a piece that many crusty old farts consider a grail gun.

This stock feed conversion was one of Dave Loo's first stock class conversions on the Ducks. He made these feed tubes, which fit over a cut open direct feed neck and were used to convert direct feed comps and direct feed Ducks. I recently received a set up on a Carter Comp, that I'm assuming Dave Loo built for teammate Tim Stone.
Is this welded onto the side of the slide or JB welded? Very cool Duck. As a collectors piece it likely wouldn't be valued as much as a standard direct feed or stock class body because the conversion isn't as clean. As a historic paintball piece it's more valuable because it bridges the popular direct feed of the day with the elegant stock class conversion that would become standard on DD-68 slides for years to come. Super cool piece and thanks for sharing.
