That's been an arguable point for years. The 707 was a tree and cattle marker, and was pretty much out of production when the game started. The 007 was the one that quite literally launched the sport.
The way I usually describe it is that the 707 was the first gun that fired balls of paint, but the 007 was the first Paintball gun. (And the Splatmaster being the first one made specifically for the sport.)
