Crossing the border to Mexico with paintball bag?

I will be moving temporarily to Mexico (Monterrey) through the summer and I just wanted to know if anyone in this sub had cross the border to Mexico with their paintball markers and other equipment before? If so, what can I do to make it smooth and not make Mexican border agents think I have guns with me?

Or should I just forget it and play paintball once I am back stateside in the fall?

Just bring your gear and rent out the gun

So don’t cross with the paintball markers. Just bring the rest?

I would not worry if it regular stuff, but I have no experience for Mexico.

I have no clue but if I end up going to Monterey again over the summer I'll hit you up. I never have gotten to play international

...assuming you aren't in a Mexican jail for weapons smuggling 😁

I could be wrong, but I think getting into Mexico won't be as strict as getting back into America.

And if you ship your gear ahead of time, plan for customs to delay shipment each way by a month.

My experience was going into mexico they couldnt care less what you have, coming back however was a different story. No paintball markers with me though and cant say its always the same.

Suppose it may depend on what type of paintball
guns you’re bringing. The less it looks like a firearm the better. But maybe just take something you don’t mind losing like a 98 custom. If they don’t like it, then you can just leave it behind.

I brought paintball guns to the U.S. a couple of times, and so have friends of mine. We haven't entered via Mexico, but flown from Europe, so not exactly what you ask for. ANyway, so far there hasn't been an issue whatsoever brining paintball markers - or the rest of our gear - in the check in luggage, or entering through customs.

I've never taken paintball gear across any border, not am I comfortable giving advice, but I can't imagine that bringing paintball gear into the US would be any kind of problem unless it looks like a firearm and then you've probably just got to be careful not to surprise anyone and demonstrate that it's not firearm. The Feds don't care about airguns here for the most part (some states and cities do but of course they don't control the border crossings)--as opposed to many other countries where airguns are legally treated like firearms or may be treated like firearms depending on caliber or muzzle energy
Firearm laws are generally more restrictive in Mexico than the US; I wouldn't be surprised if there are some legal restrictions on airguns as well
