    Anyone know about old Vise's?

    Hey All...Long time no see.

So I got married and bought a house, and the former home owner left a work bench behind in the garage.

There are two Vise's attatched to this work bench, and I'm hoping someone here who's a hobbyist or tradesman of sorts could advise exactly what these are and if they are worth something.

One is a Wilton No. 4

The other is an Oliver Machinery Company Vise.

All I know is they are very old.

I can take some pictures of them as well.

I have a Wilton very similar to that, good solid unit. The other is a decent wood working vise, they are usually on the end of the work bench with the top at the same height as the bench.

Wilton is worth a few hundred unless it is a total mess.

I would not sell either one, hang on to them. Unless you are positive you will never need a good vise.

Woodworking vise you have are very handy to have even if you cut wood infrequently.

Prostitution is a pretty old vice. Some say the oldest this side of eating someone else's apple....

I don't cut wood at all, nevermind infrequently.

There's a big table/bench thing that these are both bolted to. Tons of older tools in the drawers but they seem rusted, not sure if those could be cleaned up easily and re-used.

I have no idea if it's worth anything or if it's junk.

There's also an air compressor with all of the nozzles, and two older generators.

If anyone is knowledgeable about this stuff I'm in Rhode Island. I basically have no use for any of it. I'll upload pictures of the other stuff this evening.

Throw it up in the Yard Sale section. There are members in the area that will be interested in some of it.

If that doesn't work out...There are several used tool dealers around the area. They'll come to you and give you a cash offer for everything, haul it away on the spot. The compressor, generators, and the Wilton will have them very interested.

Do you know the names of the tool dealers that I could reach out to by chance?

I've used the tool shed in worcester, not sure how close to the border you are. There is also the tool consignment store in swansea, ma (consignment sales) and east coast tools in pawtucket.

Throw up pictures of the rusted tools. It's probably not worth a tool dealer. The dealer will need a healthy margin to make it worth his while. I think you should figure an approximate price and move it on CL.
Even a bad American made wood vice is worth $75+. I would bet yours is worth $125+
