There was (is?) at least one emu roaming state land in SE Michigan in the vicinity of a very popular trail system. It startled a number of mountain bikers and reports would surface surface every so often on the trail conditions page.Comment

Back when the emu business was booming, there were some emu rustlers. The law commented that they knew what they were doing because they found concert t-shirts at the scene. You move emus by covering their head.
Somewhere in west Texas on the road back from New Mexico, I saw several camels hanging their heads over a barbed wire fence.
