dont do a 98C. they are all over the place and easy to find.
yeah, they were influential and all but you're not looking for influential... you're looking for the best example of what a marker should be. stick to the classics that are hard to find and will only get harder.
automag, auto cocker, angel, maybe a bushmaster or spyder em1 (lol) had to throw it in there.

seriously though, the 98c was good an all and got allot of people into the sport but i would not call it "time capsule worthy".

if you were to keep a car mint, why would you choose a base model civic... you want something exciting.

No but you might keep a model T. A car that once formed the majority of cars on the road by a large margin. It wasent the first car nor was it the best. But it was one of most influential.

A VM-68......Why? Because even after that many years the damned thing would still work

Why bother putting a 98 in a time capsule? In a 100 years, chances are the damned thing will still be in service somewhere.

The Automag: Not as clumsy or random as an electro. An elegant marker for a more civilised age.

Some field will still have on old rental fleet I',m sure...

In the beginning there was the autococker vs automag and they battled on many fields. Time has shown these were the finest guns of the time, and are still great and beloved. The spyder in my opinion was a cheap and tough gun which never failed, unless a shell broke in breech and could bring the mighty little gun to a halt.kingman of course put a vm68 on a diet to achieve the spyder’s design , but hey it needed a diet. So, the point is there were so many great guns but I beleive these influenced paintball the most.put them all in the vault, and let them return to the battle field again for another generation.

Micromag: best of both worlds. Has all the reliability of the Automag, but with added flair and improvements (anodized alum body like a cocker, cocker barrel, good detent). It's the pinnacle of 90's mechanicals in my opinion.

That's a fair point. I've still never owned one, but in high school Micromags always seemed like the best all around high end option. Now they can be even better with Lvl10 bolts and better loaders.

PV1. It was the first available electro.

Spyder. Simple design, but enough room for improvement to usher in a new era of innovation.

To add... one of the custom Timmy's, I've got an A-Bomb but one of the Dragons would be cool.
They are very fun to shoot and spicy looking.

THE BEST (since this is really just a game of favorites) gun for a time capsule is an Autococker. Doesn't matter which one, just any. Reasons: 1. They will always go up in value 2. No matter which time period there will be some cool period correct build of 'cocker and 3. It's just cooler than the rest.

Like who wants to dig up an old spyder or tippmann 98? Those will continue to slide down the continuum of desirable guns as new guns come out until they are (still) the bottom of the heap. At least put something cool in there that will be appreciated by future generations even if it doesn't air up and fire right away. It's like asking a car person what car to stash away for their kids and a bunch of people yelling "A Camry! They will want to find a Toyota Camry!". Nobody cares if it's reliable. Stash away something interesting that speaks to a specific period in time like a Charger or Mustang or something.

I think there are very few examples of cockers that have actually gone up in value. Even STOs, Evos, BBTs... all of them... especially if you factor in inflation from year 2000 dollars. People forget these things cost a mint at the time. Stock cocker was nearly $400.

That's just like your opinion man. But seriously they've done about as good as can be asked for price wise. I mean, just try and get any money out of a Spyder or Tippmann. What was a Spyder Flash or Imagine back in the day? $300? And they're about like $20 and a handy these days. I would say 'cockers have fared pretty well.

i agree with the 2 guns as you cannot enjoy 1 without another. my 2 picks would be 1 dynasty nxt shocker in dust blue , and 1 bob long vice in gloss red. 1 poppet and 1 spool of exceptional quality

I would be willing to donate my Sheridan K-2 (original bolt action) signed on the stock by Bob Gurnsey.

Tippmann A5. Most other paintball don't include a loader!
