im sure im not the only person here with glasses
curious about what your guys options are about some of these things
i wear glasses, but didnt start until i was in my late 20's
i noticed i had some astigmatic issues when i was in my early 20's (double text on high contrast lettering) but it was never bad enough that i couldn't "just deal with it"
even after getting glasses, i still dont wear them all the time, especially when its daytime. i do just fine, i can see everything fine, its just not as clear as it COULD be
i can function just fine with no glasses, im not bumping into crap like mr.magoo.. i can read without them..i can play paintball without them (though if the shell isnt brightly colored, the ball is pretty much impossible for me to track after 10 feet)
problem is, i tend to have an issue with optometrists.. maybe its my getting frustrated with them over my lack of being able to explain what my issue is.. maybe its because some of these guys have all of the "bedside manner" of a salt shaker
last pair of glasses was like 5 years ago, after the second remake, i settled on a script that was a good balance of "square things not being round (astigmatism correction)" and i can read small text with them.. and i always feel like i gotta fight with these guys about the script that they want o give me, and the script that doesn't screw with my ability to see the world
i even explained that on my most recent visit.. that "i tend to prefer the cylinder correction to be dialed back a bit because it changes shapes of things, and i find it very distracting"
this guys answer "you know how you fix that?, wear your glasses all the time"
like i said.. i tend to not like optometrists..
im using the script that this guy wrote for about 24 hours.. i cant say i like it, every-time i turn my head the "wave" of everything moving around my peripheral vision is really distracting. and my eyes hurt from focusing.. and trying to look ant anything not directly in front of me SUCKS
i go lenscrafters for my prescriptions because i can get the lenses remade until im happy with them
but having to go back every-time and argue with them because their professional opinion doesn't mesh with my personal preference sucks. and its a huge contributing factor to why i dont like getting new glasses and put it off for 5 years
does anyone else have these problems? or is it just me
