i feel so "off balance" since i stopped wearing a watch. It was another thing that i had to clean.
Once the whole covid thing is over, ill go back to wearing a watch.

I found an alternative to the watch - a fitness bracelet. It washes well, shows the time and has a lot of other useful information. And about COVID - it will never end. And even if it is under control, there are still other diseases that also require compliance with hygiene standards.

First up, my mom's dad's father's watch... Elgin Model 2 (hunter) from 1899.

Then my mom's mother's father's watch which he wore all the time. Without pulling the dial I don't know who made this or how old it is.

Both run but could use a service and cleaning. The Elgin is almost pristine inside and the other is pretty clean too.

My daily driver, Bulova Accutron II Snorkel. Bi-directional Bezel beneath the glass. Second subdial at 6 o'clock. Chronograph second sweep hand, 1/10th second and minute subdials at 3 and 9 o'clock respectively. This is a great watch and I love it.

I had asked for this for my 40th birthday... I ended up getting it 12 months latter for Christmas. My birthday present was way better than a watch but I'm glad I still got this.

Next up is a 1955 Bulova President, rolled gold with seconds subdial. Mechanical with aftermarket band. These would have come with Speidel expansion bands but I've found most of those bands are tiny. I was lucky to find this one that fits 7-1/4 to 7-1/2" wrists. This one runs but could use a service and cleaning.

Bulova had an amazing history. Lots of firsts and a ton of research into how time is measured. They are now owned by Citizen and recently came out with an electro-static driven rotor driven Accutron that is absolutely amazing!

An unobtainable (to me) watch that is amazing:

And a slightly less unobtainable watch that is on my someday I'd like to try to get one list:
RGM Watch Co specializes in the manufacture of high grade mechanical watches. RGM also makes custom made watches and does repair and restoration work on mechanical watches both modern and antique.

My every day watch. I like that it’s thin, simple, and the band is really nice the way it clasps and adjusts.

This is my daily watch that gets used and abused. Multiband 6 and solar rechargeable battery. Also like it a lot because of the rally car inspiration behind it. I appreciate the classier watches here but I just don't have a use for them. I'm not a fancy person and dress up maybe once a year. I work in the industrial electric field so my stuff gets pretty beat up. I have a couple cheaper fashion watches for the once in a while I want one. I really like my AVI8 Hawker Harrier.

Just because it is so ridiculous and it does have a watch (and compass, fire starter, knife, bottle opener, thermometer, whistle and a whole lot of para chord).

My brother got me this monstrosity for my birthday, and I do get a lot of comments when I wear it.

About a year ago now, my grandfather passed away. I was originally slated to inherit a 1911 from him, but at the last minute he decided he didn't want to pass his guns to the grandkids with little firearms training. My uncle, who was taking care of the firearms, sold the 1911 and gave me the money made from it. So I used it to buy this Holzkern Askja watch. It's a walnut, marble, and steel watch with a Seiko movement. It's both a sentimental item and a really cool watch. The hunting knife was also made by my grandfather.

If someone wants a potentially nice vintage watch, I just posted a 1953 Bulova Thayer Selfwinding watch in the yard sale.
