Have you guys seen Formula 1: Drive to Survive on Netflix? Absolutely amazing reality/ documentary series with lots of POV racing action and a never-before-seen back-stage look at all teams.
If anyone hasn’t seen it, do yourselves a favor and watch it. So ******* good.

It's a good show and awesome entry point for new fans, but it is very much the story they want to tell which doesn't necessarily always line up with how events played out.
For example, the race commentators rerecord lines or do whole new commentaries specifically for the show to highlight whatever they're showing of the race. They also sometimes use team radio or clips from other races though there's less of that in the newest season.
It serves the show but definitely sometimes creates a false impression, like for example in the latest season, Haas's episode editing gives the impression Mazepin carved up the field but in reality he only finished ahead of the DNF'd Lafti and Russel.

I can’t take that show. The editing, the fake-ness, the drama…the DRAMA! Mostly it’s the editing I can’t stand. Every cut is a massive drum explosion and they ramp the speed up and down like a direct to video ripoff of The Matrix.

I agree there’s no substitute for watching the actual races, especially if you have the F1 app and are able to watch the POV of any driver you choose. But the show’s narrative isnt faked or manipulated. It’s what’s actually going on and off the track.

Good article on Magnussen’s return to F1 and to Haas:
When most drivers lose their race seat in Formula 1, the door tends to swing shut before being bolted behind them. But last week, in a surprise turn of events, Kevin Magnussen was handed the key to return as a replacement from Nikita Mazepin – and he grabbed it with both hands.
