They got the serial numbers. They are gonna have a real tough time unloading these. Really stupid to go after niche items for theft. Luxury jewelry, clothing, furniture, chemicals/drugs/equipment, valuable metals etc are what you want. you can sell it basically anywhere no issues.

In case you have never visited Fayettnam' I'm here to tell you that it's the town outside the gates of Fort Bragg... Home of the Army's largest gathering of Type A personalities and arguably home to the most Type A -wanna be fuck ups. When I was there back in 04-08 I was witness to a large quantities of stupidity doing things that no one thought was humanly possible.

To the OP: I'll spread the information around as well. Good luck, and I hope the cops get it sorted out quickly.

as you have the serial numbers the police should have entered them into NCIC as stolen. They can use Pawn Tracker to see if they turn up in any pawn shops. I'll keep an eye out in the Charlotte area.

And Fayetteville sucks. I used to have to drive to Salemburg for training and the only place to eat dinner was up in Fayetteville. Hate going there.

I'm really sorry to hear this happened. My advice as a previous shop owner:

You’ll have to keep an eye on OfferUp, FB, Craigslist, and ebay for the next 2 years (as well as PBN and MCB message boards.) You already did the right thing by alerting us, make sure to post this on PBN as well if you havent done so, I dont think OP is the victim but regardless I will give a few pointers:

Now you or the victim has to alert the authorities so that they can 1) start a police report, (I'm sure that's been done already) and 2) fill out the forms for the NJIS database and/or the NCIC database as Raven911 alluded.

Most likely the thieves will wait anywhere from 6 months to a year before testing the market as the markers can depreciate by significant margin from thereon and greed will get the best of them and most likely will not try unload the high end markers on pawn shops because they would get low balled heavily but regardless it's important to call local pawn shops (as well as interstate pawn shops bordering NC) to alert them and give them your contact information. But pawn shop owners can either be a hindrance or a huge help depending on how they play it. if they're clever they will buy the items at low ball prices knowing that the owner will offer a reward and/or re-buy them, and most importantly, get identification information in the process (preferably a copy of DL's) It's important that the victim tells pawn shop owners that they'd be compensated/rewarded for buying the items otherwise they probably will not bother, plus its illegal for them to knowingly purchase stolen merchandise (from a legal POV) but depending on the circumstances this can be overlooked by the authorities especially a Sheriff's Office.

          2) That takes me to my next point: Be clever, for online listings, if you identify or suspect that a listed market could be yours. Don't be confrontational, ask for pics of the serial without actually asking to see the serial number.

          3) if it’s a Craigslist listing: hire a private investigator to meet the buyer and gather as much information as possible such as license plate. In the event that the marker is identified as stolen you can also have the police intercept the buy

          4) Get the authorities involved, again, yes, to reiterate, don't try to apprehend or confront subjects yourself, (they will move their asses for a theft this size.)

          5) If its an online listing from ebay, that means that they have to have a bank account linked (new rule since Q4 2021) even if they use a fake address on file, the authorities can track them through the bank account on file. Ebay can also be of assistance but they could also spook the thief to go silent if they dont manage it properly.

We did have a B&E theft once but thankfully we had full coverage including theft. Good luck! I hope you guys recover them (needless to say)

          Regards,

          Max

FWIW, I'm not affiliated with Black Ops. I've played there a few times and know some of the people that work there, but that's it. I posted for them in hopes of getting the Serial numbers "out there" ASAP in order to disrupt the trade routes and make things a little more difficult for the thieves. I'm sure the Black Ops owners/staff are watching this and other forums, so thanks for the tips and feedback!
