I think you win.
There is a certain enjoyment in taking a broken gas-powered device.... and get it back to running.
My wife did not appreciate the hobby, and said we looked like "Beirut", which is an old reference for you young kids.
Eventually, my wife said that they can not be visible from the street, and I ended up having to built a couple of sheds to store all of them.
My kids were lucky though. We had lots of dirt bikes, atvs, gokarts, and buggies to play with. All sketchy, and unsafe, but they survived into adulthood.
But, my wife had enough at some point, and we rented a dumpster, and everything "not completely working" had to be thrown in. Except for a few riding lawnmowers. I pushed those into the woods. Still there, but the weeds have grown around them so they are part of nature now? Like w sunken ship in a coral reef?
I just have a handful left. My younger kids still use them (I have 7 kids. Its my own personal fiefdom). All free, found on side of road.
EDIT: The space int the middle is where I park my old Jeep. Notice the oil stain! lol
