Does my fellow Canadian Nightmare really not need a day job!??
I don't think they're that accurate. Nightmare is mid level enlisted in the Air Force.

-YouTube revenue is not hard-and-fast. It depends on total traffic, how many ads, and what kind of ads, you allow them to put in your video (there's a minimum required, but you can opt for more) and how many are actually seen (IE, how many of your viewers are using ad-blockers.) It also goes by viewing minutes- if you watch the first two minutes, and then skip to the last two, that's only four minutes, out of however long the vid is.

One very rough rule of thumb I've heard, which is a couple of years old and likely out of date, was approximately $1 per thousand views.

Which doesn't sound like much, and it kind of isn't. Which is why you'll see 'Tubers pad their videos out to 20 or 30 minutes, if if the thing they're explaining could have been in like, three or four minutes, and push merchandize like T-shirts, and do the promotional ad bit for a video game or something.

A channel with half a million subscribers, that puts out a couple videos a month, could indeed make some fair bucks. (Just keep in mind that doing so takes a LOT of work- it becomes an 9+ hour a day, 6-day-a-week day job, usually with help if not actual employees. [Anyone you see putting out more than one or two clean, polished videos a month, has a videographer and probably an editor.])

Been a loooooooooooooooong time since he was active, but Tyger has to be mentioned. I think he was the first to do the FPS thing. Or at the very least, the first to popularize it.

Was he the one that did the zoom cam videos those really stand out to me with the back spin barrel long ball shots he would take.

I have added the information to the front post so if anyone is looking for it they do not have to go to the bottom.

Post 38. In terms of people that had no interaction, Tyger probably had the most influence over me, personally. I always valued his opinion. This was in the days of having to wait hours for a video to download before I could watch it - as my dial up connection had no chance of streaming. I actually still have some of his videos.

Waiting hours for a video to download and the "high quality" version was 240p. Good ol' days.

I remember streaming PigTV at 480, and just letting it sit on pause for 2+ hours before I would even try to watch it. But I thought it was amazing. 480 was TV quality back then.
