    Postage Paid?

I recently ordered something off eBay, $25 free shipping. Came in yesterday USPS in about a 2’ x 2’ box, but fairly light. Postage on the box says $70. Is there some discount on top of what it would say on the box that would make this in any way worth it for the seller? Did they really just burn $45 to send this to me!?

I've had that happen, people underestimate what shipping something will be. Not sure about a discount type of deal.

Dang, now I feel bad if they really made that big of a loss.

eBay expects you to get things there at Priority speeds and also wants you to offer free or low shipping, as do most buyers. USPS to far away destinations has gotten so expensive that I don’t sell anything I can’t fit in flat rate boxes for this very reason. Any postage price displayed is what the seller paid, leave them some good feedback :-0.

Maybe they can write it off on their taxes?

        Yes they underestimated it.

It's all size surcharges for somthing that big.

Plus usps has temporarily increased prices for the holidays.

Always enter dimensions when you estimate shipping rates. If you only enter weight you will underestimate significantly almost every time.

Ha, so I actually reached out to the seller cause it was bugging me and they said they just use their work account to ship. All profit…for at least one party.
