They keep teasing this tech and never releasing. First time I saw it was over a decade ago now; also at CES. If they ever get this right, it'll change how we design our homes. These types of TVs will be a window out of the room. When viewing, it has it's own blackout curtain that rolls up providing a theater-like experience with no additional fuss. Plus, the same room layout for watching TV is perfectly suitable for viewing the scenery. It's perfect. Until that's all part of the pitch, I'm not actually interested. And when it is available, I'm not modifying my home for it... so... best of luck to them.

For even longer we've had electric frosted glass. Flip a switch and the clear glass becomes frosted providing privacy or a place onto which one can project video. Projector required obviously. I've seen this glass most commonly used in exterior windows, even glass shower walls, but also for tv viewing.

Ok, so this is something that also bothers me. When OLED was first starting to become practical two decades ago, no one said it as a word, it was O-L-E-D, not "Oh-lead". This need to turn initialisms into words annoys me. When Serial ATA came on the scene, also about two decades ago, it was S-A-T-A, just like its predecessor was A-T-A (later retconned into P-A-T-A), not this annoying "Say-tah" BS. Then again, I am nothing if not a hypocrite, as I have been saying SCSI as "Skuzzy" for the better part of three decades, so I guess this is just another case of an old man yelling at clouds. Speaking of "clouds", that reminds me of how annoying it is to call the internet "the cloud" just because that's how it was classically drawn in network diagrams. <knock-knock> Oh, excuse me, some nice tall gentlemen in scrubs are at the door. Hey, what are you guys doing? I don't want to go with you guys! MCB, CALL THE POLICEEEEEEEE!!!!!&?#:#!(*&&^@&NO CARRIER
            I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

Lulz! Scary thing is, though I'm flirting with 40 (not quite there yet), and thus in that gray area between Gen-X and (*ugh*) Millennial, I always wanted to be one of the neckbeards from back in the 70's computer scene. Guess I'm an honorary boomer.
