My wife just had to take her 13 year old best friend to be put down today.
Rosie was a husky-st.Bernard. She gave you unconditional Love and even just the other day was playing as fast and fun as if she was a puppy again, that gave my wife one more good memory of her.
kayuk (ka-eye-uke) was a elkhound-terrier he was put down in May because of old age too 8 years he had other health problems.
When my wife and I started seeing each other the dogs took to me quickly (kayuk hated men) my wife was impressed. I never had pets growing up but I did rescue my girl jersey while I was posted in Nunavut. She’s still alive and well
to say I wouldn’t miss them because they were her dogs would be a lie and it makes me upset even just typing that to support my thought that I am going to miss those 2.
if anyone wanted to say some kind comments I’ll be sure to show my wife I think it would really help her.

So sorry. You go through so much with your dogs and they bond like nothing else. Hard to imagine life without them. Getting to 13 for a dog that size is pretty incredible. I’ll give my old girl, who is also 13, an extra cuddle and treat in honour of Rosie!
