Just more evidence that Camry drivers are a danger to us all.

gotta love how modern vehicles are so much safer - imagine the outcome if you'd been in a 1993 or 1983 F150. I hope you have a quick and relatively pain free recovery!

no idea on the physics of the impact, i can add that a 2003 will have a higher CG than more modern years, the redesign of all the trucks and SUV's with lower bumpers to help prevent cars "going under" at impact also worked on lowering the center of gravity, for that, and to decrease rollover potential.. so, between newer Camrys being bigger than ever and having a truck that a little tilt happy by default being things to just add on top of the storm, id say the quick answer is "far in excess of the speed limit"

super happy to hear you got out of that with some bruises, and that everyone else is doing okay,

          get better soon!

Thank goodness you weren't hurt more seriously, and the real good part is that hopefully you didn't cause other people to get hurt.

I would say that I hope that you or someone on scene has and captured this on webcam. If nothing else, that you can get contact information from witnesses. On the surface and outside of being able to positively prove that car was speeding excessively, this is going to fall on you at fault.

Damn dude, tough way to make the news.

Don't underestimate the memory side of your recovery.

              Glad you're still here =]

Hope you heal, that could've been a lot worse. I have a similar pick-up, '15 F150 crew cab with 5.0 V8 and all the small cars have very little regard for such a big truck on the road. I constantly get cut-off, tail-gaited etc. you name it, it's happened.

                    Are you concussed?

I had a grade 2 concussion after a much less dramatic accident.

                    Rest well and heal dude.

That’s rough man but glad you’re ok. I was in a nasty wreck in March but i was on the other end. Guy turning left at a light in the opposite direction wasn’t looking & i hit him going about 50-55. Totaled my car. Wheel & curtain airbags deployed. Those things are no joke as I’m sure you now know. I wasn’t nearly as banged up as you but i spent the weekend puking my guts out. I’m just now back to what i think is 100%. Good luck to you man.

Happy to hear you were able to walk away, woouulf! That's a heck of a lot of damage. Your F150 served you well.

For anyone else seeking it, here's a link to the article.

The damage to the Toyota Camrolla looks absolutely brutal. Entire front crumple zone compacted, struts fractured, windshield shattered from the strain, and an engine fire. Looks like there's a foot under the driver's door, but safe to assume that's just a shoe that fell out...but made my stomach sink all the same. The Toyota took the same impact energy head on and got wedged into the ground, so it's occupant(s) likely experienced severe deceleration injuries if nothing else. I hope it's occupant(s) make it out of this alright as well.
