- A sunrise view across a mountain valley where I can not see any evidence of humans [i.e. no roads, powerlines, homes, towers...etc.]
- Open floor plan to take advantage of the views.
- Modest sized home designed to be easily maintained/repaired/updated [i.e. oversized conduit with stranded wire, maintenance access to utilities, conditioned basement/attic utilities...etc]
- Built by true trade craftsman/no cutting corners (I am into function over form but I want the completed work to be of the highest quality of material and workmanship)
- Natural stone façade and concrete and/or steel structure.
- Simple clean interior with noise isolation between rooms and attention to acoustics in open areas (deaden as necessary to keep from having echo-ing or too bright acoustics)
- A separate shop that has dedicated woodworking, metal working, automotive and electronic dedicated working areas (automotive lift able to handle 10K pounds minimum)

Am I allowed to just copy/paste this? Although I'd be stunned if I ever needed a 10T lift.

You are more then welcome to copy the list.
I am a huge <pun intended> fan of big trucks or trucks of all shapes and sizes but I think I made a typo that should be 10K. I just got rid of my 1993 F350 Crew Cab Long Bed 4x4 for a 7.3L Diesel and I miss it already. I want a Mercedes Unimog, B Model Mack, Stewart & Stevenson M1078 and IH Traveller.

Honestly, I want a modest house with land, and shop A walk out rambler that has a view, 5+ acres of wildish land with some trails I can walk or run. A lake is a huge plus as I grew up on one, but it would have to be quiet. Which isnt a thing anymore, so I'd take non lakefront for quiet.
Really, quirky dream, no budget, Id build a sand bottom pool with an attached lazy river that flows in and out if it. The lazy river would be dredged around the perimeter of the property. So I could float my own lazy river and swim in my own blue lagoon. Add a sweet drawbridge to make it my own personal mote.
Then the rest of the outdoor space would be built as a pollinator/ critical habitat sanctuary to attract wildlife for me to enjoy.
Id more so want a huge shop id put a mezzanine above half of it, and build out more living space for guests. Then I could store all the toys, and work on stuff in there.

I tend to daydream more than dream, so here's my ideas, tethered firmly to reality:
Buying a plot of land in the Texas hill country, where it's not so flat, not so sparse, but I'll still never have to shovel a driveway. I hear there are code-free pockets, so I won't need to deal with building inspections.
A pellet stove and Rumsford fireplace for winter, and multizone minisplit systems for summer - all ceiling cassettes. A central dehumidifier to help out.
Prairie-style architecture - low to the ground, natural stone, dark window glazing, clerestory windows in the rooflines, etc. If there's an area with soil good for a basement, great, but I won't hold my breath on it. Otherwise, pier-and-beam with a sealed crawlspace. Gas appliances, for sure.
A well-insulated 400 sq ft wood shop would be enough, with an attic for storage. A separate garage/ machine shop, with tarps and filters to sequester part as a paint booth.
A couple of tiny homes scattered about the property would be nice for when family visits, or to give the kids space to watch TV or play games without being obnoxiously loud.
With a place like that, I'd be kept busy for years.Feedback

The code-free part is suspect. What corners are you trying to cut?
I like the sound of it though. Love me some prairie, especially when done right.

I just want to build it myself, without having to wait on permits.
I also have some irregular ideas on the mechanicals - plumbing (reclaiming some water for irrigation), insulation, and thermal systems - that are proven, but hard to get signed. Then, start putting up ADUs for a detached TV room or game room, and code will require a kitchen or full bath or the likes in each one, depending on how big it is... just easier to do it my way. Not like I'm gonna do 36" studs or skip the ties on my roof.
