ID:	448477 This last weekend I went down to my local field with an Autococker pump I had just finished putting together. I have owned pumps in the past but never played on a field with them.

Got it chrono'd between 250-270fps, went out and played 4-5 games with it.

    It was extremely satisfying.

I normally play with early to mid 2000's electronic markers, so I'm use to putting paint down field.

It felt great aiming and putting that one ball where you wanted it to go. Got a guy right in the Go pro during a game. Holding someone off or eliminating them when they have the ability to saturate the area around you with paint is extremely satisfying.

Definitely hooked on pump play now.

I did have two issues, one of which was my own fault. Had a ball break that jammed paint feed. I had held the marker to the right and the ball had not completely fed in (was also not using batteries that day), and got eliminated soon after the jam. Had a clean angle on someone pushing up to.

The other was roll outs. Running a .689 barrel and after loading a round had about 7 or 8 rounds that I didn't keep the barrel up and they'd roll right on out. Thinking about putting an o ring between the barrel and the bore of the body of the marker as a detent if possible.

All in all, it was an excellent experience for not having done so before.

Walked in with around 200 rounds. Made it through those games and had just a little paint left over. Also a very nice thing.

Rollouts are why barrel kits are handy. You can select the right insert to keep your balls from departing prematurely.

Glad to hear you enjoyed pump! Definitely my favourite way to play.

Prevents Barrel Roll-Out in closed bolt markers, like Autocockers and Cocker Pumps. The Breech Sizer will center the ball ensuring an even cushion of air around the ball before it enters the control bore of the barrel. This produces optimal accuracy and gas efficiency than with the barrel alone.

I have a 676 and 680 that I use with a 684 barrel. Perfect kit in my opinion. But if you start with a 676 or 680 sizer it’ll be a big improvement for you. Nice gun you are a man of exquisite taste.

Had to have just enough brass on there for MCB. Detent and trigger shoe. It feels great in the hands and the worst part is I want to build another pump now.

These are a great option. I run a 680 with the stock 685 on my MVP. Great small paint solution.

Made some for myself, ended up with a lot of extra. laser cut Mylar, approx .010” thick. Maybe similar to the freedummy detents? But made of a continuous piece, constant thickness. Wedged between AC body and barrel. I find they really shine when slightly over bored with bad paint. If you have oval paintballs, under boring

As someone with many barrel kits, I strongly prefer using barrel detents. They sandwich between the barrel and the body. I don’t even bore my paint on snipers anymore. I think they shoot more consistent than underboring.

Agreed. I run these on every pump I have. Still have some of the trracer and phantom versions from way back.

The only time I mess with sizers is when I'm going for peak efficiency.

Third. These are solid and work well.
Barrel kit is #1 for me, but these are cheap and work absolutely great.

I have also used a little piece of electrical tape in the same way. Folded around the barrel and then held in place by the barrel pressing against the breach. It is a good backup option in the short term but won't stay in as well.

Well first off, welcome to the world of pump.” Youve taken your first step into a larger world “. I beleive your barrel is of the utmost importance since you only get one crack usually,so I personally run a freak barrel on every thing i walk on a field with. My second piece of advice is to shrink your hopper and leave less for the others to hit as a target. 50 round hoppers are great in size, free up your field of vision, you travel lighter and can snap the gun around easier. This is pure advice and you may use at your discretion.your gonna love ,as it is so satisfying to be a pump guy. Welcome aboard mate, and nice gat.

Second the smaller Hopper. I would like to add, the JOLO by paintball DNA is exquisite and worth every penny. Especially with the squishy shells. I threw one on my spump, and oh man it was sweet!

Get anti rollout fingers, cheapest option. Then if you need to, a barrel kit of some sort. Personally I like to overbore always, especially since it's humid where I am and balls can be bigger (over 689) so the detents are great especially if you don't want to dish out for more backs or inserts or whatever

Before your know it, you'll be turning your nose up at a $700 pump because it's too cheap

Next step is to use 12g

I got hooked on pump after someone let me borrow their karnivor pump earlier in tbe day and then just so happened that that night 2kids came through our camp looking so sell their lightning pumps. My brother in law and I snatched them up at $50 each and while I wouldn't say pump is our main play style, they are always in the bag

Welcome to the club! Pump is super addictive and completely changes the game mentality.

To echo others, get some finger detents. They are a game changer. I'm with RedLeader, I basically don't bother messing with barrel kits or bore sizes anymore. Just toss a finger detent and you're good to go. Plus you can use all those fun old school barrels without incident.

For small hoppers I really like this one.

With a little practice and consistency pump will make you a better player, but more importantly it's FUN.

After getting acquainted with open class pump you should definitely try out stock class, that is where the real fun begins IMO!
