This last weekend I went down to my local field with an Autococker pump I had just finished putting together. I have owned pumps in the past but never played on a field with them.
Got it chrono'd between 250-270fps, went out and played 4-5 games with it.
It was extremely satisfying.
I normally play with early to mid 2000's electronic markers, so I'm use to putting paint down field.
It felt great aiming and putting that one ball where you wanted it to go. Got a guy right in the Go pro during a game. Holding someone off or eliminating them when they have the ability to saturate the area around you with paint is extremely satisfying.
Definitely hooked on pump play now.
I did have two issues, one of which was my own fault. Had a ball break that jammed paint feed. I had held the marker to the right and the ball had not completely fed in (was also not using batteries that day), and got eliminated soon after the jam. Had a clean angle on someone pushing up to.
The other was roll outs. Running a .689 barrel and after loading a round had about 7 or 8 rounds that I didn't keep the barrel up and they'd roll right on out. Thinking about putting an o ring between the barrel and the bore of the body of the marker as a detent if possible.
All in all, it was an excellent experience for not having done so before.
Walked in with around 200 rounds. Made it through those games and had just a little paint left over. Also a very nice thing.
