for me it was $4.25 and 6 months later was 4.75 since grocery stores in so cal union and rest was $3.75 in 1990.

$2.30 (Summer of '76) not that is what I worked for at the time. I did hand picking of grapes, potatoes and onion and that was work by the piece. I did not start getting paid by the hour until I was 13-14 and it was $2.90 at that point and I was making somewhere north of $4 an hour.

Bunch of youngsters here. I don't remember minimum wages because the local electrical union would not let me in when I asked back in '76. I had just gotten my electrical contractors license and you had to know someone, be related, or bribe someone. Toughed it out, became a very successful contractor and had the pleasure of telling a number of BA's my story and that were i to join their beeping union, I'd be taking a pay cut...and please get off my job before I call the police. (At least a couple of them agreed with me that back then you had to have pull to get in.) For what it's worth, before the license I was working for $3.00 an hour as a handyman.

1998 - $5.15. It was in the kitchen of a retirement home. In NC it's been $7.25 since 2010...I can haz feedback?
