Also if you want to get a taste for what the modern era bots can do, I think the first few seasons of the new show are on YouTube. See if it's still there

I'm into the 2019 season.
Duck is honestly the best built robot in the competition. The whole goal is to let the opponent knock themselves out on it's superior build. Really boring fights if you want duck offence, and I don't expect a championship win, but it's such a well-executed design.
The gemini twins just don't weigh enough to be good. They get easily pushed around and their driving/communication that should be making up for it is absolutely horrible.
Tombstone is just...tombstone. All flash all offence. don't know why nobody has replicated it
WHY are sawblades being used as weapons? Did a 3rd grade kid make that choice? They just are not able to cut like they need to.

You are correct about Gemini and I think that's the reason why they were only in one or two seasons. Multi-bots where the weight is split pretty evenly never seem to work that well
I think one of the reasons nobody replicates tombstone is because the organizers don't want the same robot with multiple teams. Keep watching tombstone though the next couple seasons are fairly interesting
Right about where you are I think is when a lot of the teams that use saw blades are realizing that what you're saying is basically true they are not very effective but most of them don't actually give up on the whole concept I think it's pretty interesting what happens in tbe next few seasons

Yeah I think where you are at is roughly where the most amount of vertical spinners is in play. The physics does work in their favor no doubt about it so that's one of the reasons why there's so many of them
I don't remember where it is but they had an interview with I think the guys from endgame who said it best something along the lines of as the design Windows get more narrow meaning more teams building basically the same robot then all it takes is one team to build an effective design that can conquer them all so in a way it is also a self-correcting problem. I'm pretty sure you are at the point where you're starting to see huge become more effective and that's a good example of it because so many teams were building robots so low to the ground that they just decided to give up the ground game and put the majority of their robot in a place where it couldn't be touched

I'm not sure I would say they find a way because the original idea is that the wheels will flex out of the way I would probably say they just got better at designing Wheels. I wouldn't say it's perfect in a tombstone versus huge match I'd still put money on tombstone but they might be the only one
And a robot that copied huge in 2019 the only one I can really think of might be mammoth. But the only way they're copying is that it's just a big robot also don't buy stock in mammoth
There's a robot a little ahead of where you are called starchild that has very large Wheels like huge funny part about that one is BattleBots hyped the ever living piss out of it and well you don't see anybody wearing starchild shirts let's put it that way

Captain shred is a legacy bot from the first iteration of BattleBots that's why they get so much love from the show. But you are correct they are an absolute joke they apparently haven't learned anything in about 20 years
