I’ve spent a good amount of time driving in northern BC in winter for winter for work in such conditions. What really messes you up is when someone pulls over on the wrong side of the road so you suddenly have headlights passing on your right side instead of left. The other joy is when a semi passes by you and for at least the next 5 second you can see absolutely nothing but blowing snow. Good times!

For the last 4 winters I have been driving to work on the highway before the plows get out. If I hadn't driven that road so many times in my life and gotten a good sense of where it turns I would have gone off the side more than a few times.

My personal favourite was when I worked at the ski hill and had my old golf. The snow would come up over the bumper, across the hood and get swept off the windshield. Keep the car moving and it was no problem. Stop and you might have to rock it a bit to get going again (manual trans ftw)

when its snowing casually but you get behind a semi on the highway and all of a sudden it feels like your trapped in a blizzard, you either risk passing him or back off far enough to be outside the blizzard.
