Custom Anno Suggestions - What would you do?

Well I’m absolutely crippled in this decision making process.

I’m currently working on prepping for a Karni/Kaos pump build and buying some items to get that rolling.

Initially I thought recreating the Ironman anno would be interesting and am still playing with that idea. Generally I don’t like acid wash, and am not big on pinks, purples etc. And all camo is 100% out lol. Most of my clothes are either black or white with black logos ha, I guess I’m not too original.

I’m a bit OCD so I like colors to balance out or work well together, so I can’t decide whether to go for “field classy” with something matte, or more muted. Or whether to play around and get a bit outside of my comfort zone. Orrrrr just to go all black lol.

Been considering a Carter “Tequila Sunrise” with black accents, matte copper with black accents, matte grey with polished copper (already have a matte marker though), or maybe getting weird with an acid wash like below.

What are some annos y’all have been eyeing for a while? Or what would/have you done when stuck on this momentous decision?

I haven’t seen an Anno job I liked since bonzai style angels and splash shocker 4x4’s. No good Anno since 2001. I’ve always been a fan of pewter or grey. gloss pewter looks awesome. I’d also suggest a high gloss finish. The old black gloss WDP angels had the best finish.

That’s true the high gloss black is absolutely a classic. Anno does seem to be pretty “meh” now.

I’ll take a look at pewter!

My S6.5 is matte grey with light blue accents. I had a Shamrock green S6 with black I liked as well.

How about copper and darker copper acid wash with sparse mint green sponge to give it an oxidized copper look

The green would have to be done perfectly. The coppers are growing on me.

I’m just trying to imagine what parts of the Karni I would do matte copper and which would be black. Also matte or gloss black?

But for the acid wash I like that idea I just can’t quite picture it.

You’re not wrong tho. I look around now and am rarely excited by what I see.

I always liked the idea of a high gloss copper with a matte olive splash.

Copper and olive, would’ve never considered that. The Karni body is so big that I’m worried about anything like that being a bit overpowering.

I like the black and copper gloss from Caustic. And I keep going back to a matte copper with black accents.

I’ve always invisioned like reptar colors from rugs rats like a green purple lights blue splash or fade.

Reptar, that’s a throwback from my childhood. Nice reference.

A Reptar build would be fitting for a Karni.

Ill toss my vote towards an acid wash.... although I tend to prefer crazier annos, I almost did an acid wash on my infamous CS3 but ended up going with a galaxy anno instead..... I do think the copper accents is a cool idea though.

That last anno by Caustic has really caught my eye. I’m leaning heavily between that and a matte copper with black. Or black with copper if I wanna be more muted.

I’ll need to choose a two piece barrel to run I assume.

I just went and re-looked at caustics recent post..... I do think its pretty sweet, gives me steam punk vibes... pops just enough to turn heads without screaming for attention. I feel like a matte carbon fiber barrel similar to the DW style would look nice on it.... or just an all black with a copper fade on the barrel tip

      Acid wash splash?

Acid wash is done first in whatever colors you want that is then masked off in a splash pattern then a top layer of black is applied to everywhere that is not masked off

You get the colors and patterns that you want along with a decent chunk of black

If it's possible I would say polish the acid wash parts and leave the black matte

I always thought a light sponge is cool..black with neon green sponged in (heavy at the barrel tip and lighter as you work your way down the marker)

I have done a handful of markers. Be careful though, custom anno on a marker is like a tattoo…once you do one, you just keep going (or at least that’s what I’ve heard…I got some virgin skin)….

I have a T2 in flat OD green with black accents and some lasering

a T2 in matte black with gold splash (cerakoting) with a flame anodized titanium barrel

a Niche Celtic in black/gold in a “Boondock Saints” theme
        and

a heavily milled VeeTwin with purple/black and gold/black 2 face acid wash.

on deck next is my Duckslide. It’s getting matte clear with gloss purple hibiscus.

To me honest, I’m not a huge acid wash fan (but I do like it on some markers), BUT if you have anything with milling, acid was REALLY shows it off. The VeeTwin blows my mind every time I look at it. ( Sorta like that sexy bronze marker from
        caustic above)

        Just food for thought.

I’ll be a total pic whore later and her some photos up of my markers. They were all done by Arc (except the cerakoted one). Maybe they can help inspire you.

I get frustrated when someone posts an awesome gun with a loud ano. Especially if resale is an option, stick to classic. Like painting a house beige before listing it.

I think black or solid contrasting accents can ground a gun. Especially with a crazy pattern, the lines blur together. Match anodized grips and triggers are a pet peeve of mine for that reason.

Espresso brown with deep red brushed highlights (like that amazing copper on black mag) could look great on a Karni. A splash or wash would conceal the lines. A gloss black barrel back, feedneck, trigger, pneus, and bolt pin would "future-proof" it if you find components you like more, later.

flyweightnate is 100% correct…matching everything can create problems if you ever want/have to swap parts. Like anything, there is a place for it, but future proofing is a smart move and having contrast goes a long way.

Unless you have the total showpiece unicorn marker…then throw caution to the wind and go crazy! 😂

That black and copper mag is dope, I'm like you I could never make up my mind even if I had the cash, I tend to like more nuetural colors myself, dust black or Grey with brushed copper accents would be dope as well, the one color way I would love to have is light blue and orange, that splash orange Karni that cocker top just rebuilt had me 🤤

I think this is the way to go. A cherry blossom or galaxy looks amazing on something with simple lines, but the Karni does not have simple lines. Stick to something simple, yet elegant for the anodizing.

I’m a slut for a good Acid wash. If the Karni is done like that last mag ware the lines are accented with a bright contrasting color I bet it would look sick.
