The OP's linked article is based on a Forbes article from 2019
YouTube superstar Logan Paul is releasing a new documentary about the Flat Earth community and expressed his desire to traverse Antarctica to reach the ice wall.

So is a bit out of date.

There's a more recent idea though ,called the Final Experiment...
The Final Experiment | Antarctica Expedition to End the Flat vs. Globe Earth Debate

Where at least one die hard flat earther, and one, well, normal person, get an all expense paid trip to Antarctica in mid December to observe the sun in the sky for 24 hours. With anyone else who wants to pay their own way joining along. The idea being that the sun being in the sky in Antarctica for 24 hours is impossible with any flat earth model.

My favorite is that one of the guys went airborne in a homemade rocket to try to see the edge, and declared the flight inconclusive. So he needs to go higher next time. It seems like they have a lot of fun "proving" whatever it is they think. And no real negative impact to the rest of us, except the money they siphon off from other pursuits.
The damage they are doing is that it's eroding science and discovery. If you can push people to believe something that "doesn't really matter" then you can also push people to believe in things that actually do matter. The damage of not understanding basic geometry/math/science is what the damage it.

What a lot fail to see is they are just the useful idiots being manipulated to do exactly that erode Real Science with “The Science”.

While i see your point... yeah, their existence isn't going to weaken my faith in geometry. I think I'll be OK. They might be less ok, but that's on them.

we should raise money to have someone from this group to join them make documentary about the whole trip so we can get real story on this. just in case they do not give true story. while on trip we could do some pranking too.

I’m thinking an Antarctic paintball scenario would be appropriate at the same place/time

Years ago my family was having a big harvest party, and wanted to cook up about a 50 ears of sweet corn we grew in our garden. The big bright idea someone came up with was two steel fence posts laid across a big bonfire, holding up a 30 gallon garbage can full of water to boil the corn. This worked great until, guess what, the steel fence posts STARTED TO MELT FROM THE FIRE. The big garbage can tipped over, spilled all 30 gallons of boiling water right on my ankle. Ended up in the hospital for a few days getting skin grafts, still have the nasty scar.

So the whole "open fire can't melt steel" BS just makes me shake my head. Plus consider the added air flow from high altitude cross winds, and the towers themselves acting like chimneys to funnel more air up to the fire, that's a damn blast furnace, enough to liquify steel, more than enough to compromise structural integrity.

They only shoot the flat ones at the bottom of the bag.

Nah. Im just going to trust the mountains of preexisting scientific record. Maybe I’m part of the lizard problem but I don’t have any reason to believe that the thousands of explorers, conquerors and cartographers who have sailed the seas for centuries are all somehow part of an airtight conspiracy that only crazy people understand. I’m quite confident in my definition of “dumbass” at this point in time so I don’t need to check it by riding along.
