    Hydrogen water cup?

So this was posted in a 3D printing deal site - plasticfsntasticdeals.com, and I’m unsure of what the actual purpose is. Maybe one of you health nuts might know. My first thought was isn’t water with extra hydrogen H3O? Isn’t that the stuff the Germans wee working with during WW2 trying to make nuclear weapons? Yes I understand that’s probably not the result of this item but that’s what popped in my head.

Heavy water? Interesting. So H2O sort of specifies that designates there are already twice as many Hydrogen than Oxygen already. And there are those that want more? Intriguing.

Heavy water is still H2O. difference between heavy and light water is that heavy water has a deuterium atom substituted for protium (normal) hydrogen. Deuterium is an isotope of hydrogen with one neutron in the nucleus along with the proton, protium has just a proton. Tritium (the stuff is glow in the dark stuff) is an isotope that has two neutrons, and is radioactive.

It obviously can't "create" hydrogen out of nothing, and I found no replaceable cartridge to indicate it's using some chemical reaction outside of the water to produce hydrogen. So it's extremely likely it's using electrolysis to split some of the water in the glass into hydrogen and oxygen. So you get regular water with bubbles of H2 and O2 floating out of it. Not H3O, which is an Ion, and generally present in acidic solutions.

And not heavy water, which has extra neutrons in the hydrogen atom.

So just regular water with hydrogen gas and oxygen gas bubbles floating out of it.
And anyone who's paid attention in high school chemistry knows that producing enough of that combination can lead to some... explosive results.

Probably doesn't produce enough to get that energetic of reaction, but something to be careful of.

As for the health benefits of drinking water with H2 and O2 bubbles floating in it, well there is this article...

I for one, can't wait for Radium water to make a comeback.

It’s just a scam to prey on the dumb. This is probably the 100th example of this “idea”. There’s probably a few dead Kickstarters somewhere that did the same thing.

There are a lot of dumb people. There are a lot of dumb people that are obsessed with their bodies but also refuse to listen to science so they chase crap like this as they wander alone through life…latching on to every dumb scam the winds bring their way. “You never know!” they often say but…that’s not true. You can know. A person can know LOTS.

EDIT: I just recognized this scam! I didn’t at first because the last time we saw it they were attaching it to CARS. Remember that?

My uncle’s cousin’s neighbor had a car that got 500 hectares to the barrel by using one of those devices but the CIA came and stole it in the night.

I remember that scam. Hook it up to your air intake so it would pump hydrogen into your engine and get you better mileage!

My stepmom bought one of these devices and swears by it. I said, "oh what's it produce? Snake oil?"

        She didn't understand lmao
