So far, everyone in my family has been vaccinated except for my son. He'll be eligible for it in July. None of us have had any real side effects except for my wife who had some minor flu-like symptoms and my daughter who was a bit loopy for a day and ran a low grade fever. Aside from that, the only thing I've experienced is a powerful urging to buy a new Xbox (F5, F5, F5... damn).

I am scheduled for tomorrow morning to get my first shot. My family has all gotten it and no real issues other than soreness and a little fever for a day.

I was texting a friend that I was getting the Pfizer vaccine on Monday.

Autocorrect tried to make "Pfizer" into "Viagra. That was a hard moment.

Got my second dose of the Moderna two weeks ago, wife got hers on Tuesday. She was itchy, I felt like I had a fever and then it went away like the flip of a switch.

All this sounds familiar to me - had a rough 12 hours or so starting about 12 hours after the second shot, and that was it. Numbers are looking up, vaccination rates increasing. May is going to be a VERY different world. And I can't freaking wait.

I have a question: Is it ethical to hunt down and shoot- twice, in the head- the people that have started sending me spam telling me how I can either- for a small fee- get on the vaccination lists, or get my "vaccination stimulus" check if I just send them my bank information, or how my check can't be deposited until I re-verify may bank details and supply a social security number?

                        Yes. It's completely ethical.

The word you are looking for is not ethical but obligatory.

A lot of my family got the jab already 2 got Pfizer and 3 got moderna. The 3 that got the moderna all had some side affects.Mostly fever, arm pain ,headache, nausea.I notice that they are testing the boost shot for the other variants. How many boost shots can you get in a year since there’s a new variant comming every other week.

Diomedes, is there any indications yet as to permanency of the vaccines? Does it look like once is enough or will this be yearly like flu shots?

So far the protection is holding, even against the new variants that are circulating. Coronaviruses, fortunately, mutate more slowly than something like influenza, but it's possible (I even lean towards likely) that this will end up like the flu with a yearly shot designed for "this year's" strains. Luckily, that'll be pretty straightforward, from a technical standpoint. We have the whole vaccine ready (several of them), so they might just need a little tweak year-to-year, but that's easy.

I avoid the doom-and-gloom news coverage peddling nightmare scenarios for clicks. No one can truly predict the future with certainty and there's nothing I can do about it anyway so I choose to stay positive.
