    Humidors

I’m sure there are a few other enjoyers of cigars here. Gotta a question, what do you use as a humidor? I have a latching Tupperware and a “nice” wooden one. The wood one refuses to maintain humidity no matter how many times I’ve seasoned it. The Tupperware latches look to be wearing out. So I am looking for a new humidor to replace them both, preferably 50-75 cigar capacity and honestly would prefer something air tight, maybe pelican style case?

what do you all use for your collections?

Are you using a sponge humidifier with distilled water? Those never worked well for me.

I would recommend using Xikar cristal humidifier and propylene glycol

refill it couple of time and will stay perfect for a long time after

Xikar is one of the best brand and 1 bottle of Propylene glycol will last a long time.
You should ne able to find those where you buy your cigar

I’ve been running boveda packs since I started keeping cigars in humidors a few years ago. My wood box has a large glass panel and from ive read they are notoriously difficult to maintain humidity levels. It doesn’t help I get really dry air during the winter.

You are speaking my language! I have probably 200 or more cigars in my humidor right now and I use the 65% boveda packs and those will last a year or two for me.

Now I ended up buying a coolerdor, but don't plug it in as its in my basement.

Overkill for what you might want right now, but if you ever step up to cases you will need it.

Anything air tight will work best. The fancy boxes just don't last long term as moisture seeps out. If you pay real good money for a wooden one and you do the lid drop test on it, you can find them, but I gave up.
        * lid drop test is to open it and let the lid fall back down. If it slams down with a thud, too much air easily escapes. If it comes down with a soft close, its pretty air tight.

So for you, a larger pelican or any water right box with boveda packs.

Or go big and get that coolerdor!
